WWE Monday Night Raw Preview: 16 May, 2016

What will Reigns do next?

Another edition of Monday Night Raw is almost here and thanks to the solid booking that WWE had been doing for the past few weeks, this week is bound to be an exciting one. The war between The Club and the Samoan family is hands down the most exciting thing about Raw while it will be held together with the help of some solid midcard feuds as well.

All the mid card championships have some worthy contenders at this moment and this is another fact that makes this week’s Raw a must watch episode. Last but not the least, Extreme Rules is on the horizon and there is a lot of unpredictability looming around. So check out the possible segments that WWE could give us this week.

5. The innovative feud

True genius

Chris Jericho is a genius. No matter how many times this statement is stressed, it wouldn’t be enough because Jericho simply comes up with something new every time he is on television. And now that he has a solid opponent like Dean Ambrose, Jericho is unleashing all his creativity once again. From the death of Mitch to the destruction of the jacket, this feud has been giving something new in every segment.

This week would not be any different and hopefully, these two would give another segment which would turn into a trend in the social media. Ambrose is likely to get one over Jericho this time around as it satisfies the pattern that is currently followed.

4. Mexico vs. Russia

Rusev getting the momentum

The United States Championship scene has managed to generate some interest among the fans thanks to the involvement of Rusev and Lana. Rusev was toyed recently by Sin Cara and Kalisto and from the looks of it; Sin Cara could be here to stay. Rusev, who is finally finding some momentum after the breakup from League of Nations, might go on to win the championship soon.

But the subplot here is the potential heel turn of Sin Cara. He might turn on his partner when the time arrives which in turn could help Rusev to get his hands on the United States Championship.

3. The Flair syndrome

Time to restrain?

Natalya and Charlotte are all set to face off in a submission match at Extreme Rules for the Women’s championship. The prospect is mouthwatering on paper but the limelight has been on Ric Flair for the past few weeks. Flair has been involving heavily in the matches of Charlotte and it has been causing some problems.

Last week, Shane McMahon made sure that Flair was kept away from the match and ensured Paige a fair shot at the champion. Shane might have to come to the rescue once again or he could simply fire Flair from the roster and deliver us a classic McMahon moment.

2. Who will get the upper hand?

Can he?

The midcard of WWE is well sorted out thanks to the four way feud for Intercontinental Championship. WWE has four talented names in the form of Miz, Cesaro, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens in the mix and last week, the match for Extreme Rules was made official. This means that the superstars will have an extra layer of freedom to tear each other apart.

At SmackDown, WWE booked a tag team match between the four and we might see something similar on Raw as well. However, in the end, only one wrestler might stand tall and ahead of Extreme Rules, having such a momentum would be crucial.

1.The Club vs. The Family

Finally some credit

The most exciting feud in the current roster is clear – the war between AJ Styles’ Club and Roman Reigns’ family. The feud, which started off as a one on one feud between Styles and Reigns has morphed into a stable war with an array of emotions on display. WWE has been making use of all the possible permutations for the past few weeks and it would be interesting to see what they come up with next.

No matter what they have in their mind, Reigns and AJ Styles are going to lock horns in the end to give us a taste of what we could expect at Extreme Rules. The fact that Reigns is starting to get some cheers shows how good this angle is and hopefully WWE would not ruin it.
