Alberto del Rio 1

This week’s SmackDown was taped in Milwaukee, WI. The show opens with Lilian Garcia introducing Triple H to the ring.

Triple H talks about all the criticism directed at him despite he doing what was good for business. He says he is ready to take this burden and continue doing what he feels is best for business.

The Miz interrupts Triple H and says that HHH and Stephanie had it planned to make Big Show KO him. Triple H calls Miz a perfect example of someone who is at fault but blames the management. He gives Miz another opportunity at retribution by announcing his match with Orton later on in the show.

Alberto Del Rio vs R-Truth

Short and quick match that ended with ADR connecting the cross-arm breaker for the victory. R-Truth had a brief moment of control in the match after Del Rio hit the post outside the ring.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio

RVD and Ricardo then make it to the ring as ADR still has the arm breaker locked in. RVD hits Del Rio with a steel chair dropkick that opens him up. Vickie and HHH are watching backstage and plan on a stipulation for their match at Battleground. After some thought they settle for a hardcore rules match between the two.

The Prime Time Players vs The Real Americans

One of the better tag matches we have seen in a while. The match started with Swagger and Titus with the latter starting strong. Swagger managed to counter some moves and tagged Cesaro.

The two then made quick tags and kept the pressure on Titus who was finding it difficult to make a tag. The moment of the match and the show came when Cesaro started his spin on Titus. Cesaro spun Titus for almost 20 turns which blew the gas out of the big man.

Titus somehow makes the tag on Young, who comes in strong and takes out both the Americans. Cesaro hits a Rock Bottom on Young but Titus breaks the count. Swagger takes Titus outside the ring and Young pins Cesaro. The referee is distracted by Swagger and Titus and doesn’t notice Young’s pin. Cesaro then tags Swagger who locks in the Patriot Lock to make Young tap out.

Winner: The Real Americans

Bray Wyatt vs Zack Ryder

Short squash match that saw Wyatt completely own Ryder. Wyatt hit the Sister Abigail on Ryder for the three count.

Winner: Bray Wyatt

Dean Ambrose vs Dolph Ziggler (US Title Match)

Dean Ambrose makes his way to the ring from the crowd. He’s accompanied by Rollins and Reigns. Ziggler comes in and calls for backup and Kofi Kingston and RVD make their way to support him and watch his back.

After some back and forth action all the wrestlers end up in a brawl inside the ring. The match ends in a no finish and HHH comes out and announces a six man tag match between the group.

RVD, Ziggler and Kofi vs The Shield

This was an excellent match and mostly managed to make people forget the disappointment of a title match ending in a no finish. All the wrestlers worked really well in the ring and the match was given ample amount of time to be considered interesting.

The end saw a flurry of moves from all the wrestlers. Ziggler hit the Fame Asser on Rollins and was immediately speared by Reigns out of nowhere. RVD then takes out Reigns with a moonsault to the outside. Rollins hit the blackout on Kofi and Ambrose the legal man rolled him up for the win. Great teamwork from the Shield.

Winner: The Shield

Backstage Renee Young interviewed Big Show who recounted his past actions with tears in his eyes. He says he did all that for his family and for the job. Triple H comes in and mocks Show for this and makes him angry.

Show warns him with his fists but Triple H is confident that he won’t lay a hand on him. Big Show roars in frustration and leaves as Triple H smirks.

AJ Lee vs Cameron

Decent back and forth match that saw AJ win after hitting a running knee? on Cameron.

Winner: AJ Lee

Paul Heyman is out next as he talks about how useful Curtis Axel was in properly executing the plan at Night of Champions. He then speaks about Ryback and how big, bad and beautiful he is. He sells the match between Punk and Ryback and calls Ryback the Best in the World.

Santino Marella vs Heath Slater

Santino makes his way to the ring with Khali and Hornswoggle. The two neutralize the remaining members of 3MB while Santino takes on Slater. After trading a few shots, Santino brings out the cobra as Jinder plays a snake charming flute.

Apparently Santino’s cobra turns on himself (really??) but Khali and Hornswoggle manage to knock Jinder and Drew out. Santino then hits the Cobra for the win.

Winner: Santino Marella

Randy Orton vs The Miz

Both start the match pretty aggressively as the Miz gets the upperhand. He lands several strikes on Orton and manages to keep him down. Orton then moves away from his running clothesline in the corner and Miz gets injured. He holds his shoulder as doctors check him. Miz says he can continue and goes for Orton.

Orton now has the upperhand as he drags Miz by his hair and mounts several strikes on Miz. The doctors and referee try and stop the fight and end the match in a disqualification.

Winner: The Miz by DQ

HHH comes out and says that Miz was stolen his opportunity of retribution as Orton purposely got disqualified. He asks the match to be restarted with a no DQ rule.

Randy Orton vs The Miz : No DQ match

Orton attacks the Miz as the doctors attend him. He sends Miz through the steel steps and tosses him into the announce table. Miz finds a chair and hits Orton in the back to manage some fight back. Orton returns with a kick to the gut and hits the DDT with Miz’s feet on the security wall. Orton then drags Miz to the ring as he lays lifeless and hits the RKO for the pin.

Winner: Randy Orton
