During his tag team main event match alongside John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso, Paul attempted a slingshot lariat. However, the execution went wrong, and Paul stumbled while landing before being struck with a superkick from Jey Uso.

Following the match, fans erupted on X and flooded the platform, with some even comparing it to CM Punk’s infamous botch of the same move during his feud with Adam Page in 2022. Many users even pointed out the difficulty of pulling off the Buckshot Lariat. Some speculated whether the botch was intentional as part of the match’s storytelling.
