A New Japan Pro-Wrestling up-and-comer recently formed an alliance with AEW World Champion Jon Moxley. The star in question, Gabe Kidd, has now teased answers as to why he joined forces with The Purveyor of Violence.

The "War Ready" brawler saved Moxley from losing his World Title to Samoa Joe last month, much to the surprise of fans in the arena. He aided The Death Riders and The Young Bucks during the buildup to AEW Double or Nothing, although he was unsuccessful at helping the heel alliance prevail in their Anarchy in the Arena match at the pay-per-view.

Gabe Kidd is scheduled to challenge Yota Tsuji for the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship at NJPW Dominion later this month. In a video package shared by the promotion on its YouTube channel, the former NJPW Strong Openweight Champion addressed the subject of working with Jon Moxley and the Bucks.

Kidd said that he would reveal his motivations during the press conference for the upcoming June 15 NJPW event.

"See, this is the thing, everyone wants answers, 'Why did you team up with the Bucks, why did you team up with Jon Moxley?', everyone wants to know right now. You'll know, you'll know exactly why, tune into the press conference, I'll tell you exactly why I do what I do. Everyone wants to understand my mind. Understand how I'm thinking. You can't understand how I'm thinking, I am a mad man, you know. I'm very mad, but I'll do my best to convey to you and understand why I'm with Mox." [6:54 - 7:34]

Whether Kidd will be able to win his second NJPW singles title next week remains to be seen.

Gabe Kidd's recent work in AEW

After being put to sleep by Samoa Joe at Dynamite: Spring BreakThru and The Death Riders' World Trios Title loss to The Opps, The One True King called out The Samoan Submission Machine to a showdown over his AEW World Championship.

The former WWE Superstars locked horns for the belt inside a steel cage on the Beach Break edition of the Wednesday night show. Although Joe's allies, Powerhouse Hobbs and Willow Nightingale, neutralized Moxley's stablemates, it was Gabe Kidd who shockingly aided the champion in stealing the victory.

The Bullet Club War Dogs member aligned himself with The Death Riders and The Young Bucks heading into their Anarchy in the Arena match against AEW's top babyfaces at Double or Nothing 2025.

Kidd interfered in the bout in favor of his new associates despite not being a participant, but Mark Briscoe soon arrived to take him out and even the odds. The 28-year-old was locked inside an ambulance with Moxley and his crew, allowing Kenny Omega and Swerve Strickland to take out the EVPs and score the win.

Kidd could still be in league with Moxley, as he teamed with the latter and his stablemate Marina Shafir to defeat Briscoe, Nightingale, and Mike Bailey in a mixed trios match on the Dynamite after Double or Nothing.
