Wrestling fans have shared their responses to a former AEW name's unexpected appearance on WWE Smackdown. The personality in question is Vickie Guerrero.
Vickie Guerrero is a well-known name in the wrestling world. She is most readily recognized for her on-screen work in WWE, where she served as a manager to some of the company's top stars over the years, including Jack Swagger (aka Jake Hager), Nic Nemeth (fka Dolph Ziggler), and Adam "Edge" Copeland. She also had a four-year stint in AEW, providing managerial services to Nyla Rose and Marina Shafir. She introduced Andrade El Idolo to All Elite Wrestling television in 2021.
WWE presented Smackdown's Season Premiere episode this week. At one point during the show, the camera showed Vickie Guerrero in the crowd at the Climate Pledge Arena. The commentary team quoted her well-known "excuse me" catchphrase and alluded to the 56-year-old having once held the position of Smackdown General Manager.

Fans flocked to X/Twitter to comment on Guerrero's attendance at this week's episode of Smackdown. Several users expressed confusion over her appearance on the show, seemingly under the impression that she was still signed with AEW, even though Guerrero left the Tony Khan-led promotion last year.
Several fans also expressed excitement about the former General Manager's appearance on WWE programming. In contrast, one fan condemned her appearance due to her response to her daughter's allegations against her stepfather.

Former WWE and AEW personality Chavo Guerrero on his relationship with Vickie Guerrero
Last year, Sherilyn Guerrero, daughter of Vickie and WWE legend the late Eddie Guerrero, accused her stepfather and Vickie's husband, Kris Benson, of alleged sexual assault. Vickie denied the allegations against Benson on social media and sided with her spouse, taking legal steps against her daughter.
During an interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Senior Editor Bill Apter from May 2023, former WWE Superstar, AEW figure, and also Eddie's nephew Chavo Guerrero voiced his support for Sherilyn and further confessed to not staying in touch with Vickie Guerrero.
"I keep in touch with all of the other Guerreros and I keep in touch with Eddie's daughters, yes. I don't really talk to Vickie, we don't talk, especially after this and her response, I was kinda like, urgh, that's just not good. Very uncomfortable. But, like I said, it's not my business, and that's something that I want to stay out of, for sure," he said.
It remains to be seen whether and where Vickie Guerrero will resume her career in pro-wrestling in the future.
