Bryan Danielson is on one of the most acclaimed runs in modern history from an in-ring perspective. While he might have been injured last night in his match against Will Ospreay, fans are still coming up with more dream matches for The American Dragon. MMA legend Josh Barnett has now commented on the possibility of Danielson facing WWE's Charlie Dempsey.

Dempsey is the son of William Regal and is considered by many to be a future top star in the business. At just 27 years old, the NXT star has already wowed fans with his in-ring prowess in WWE, AJPW, and the most recent edition of Josh Barnett's Bloodsport events, which are hosted by GCW.

Bloodsport X, held on April 4, featured stars from WWE, TNA, and AEW – a rare sight in modern pro wrestling. After the success of last night's AEW Dynasty pay-per-view, fans are once again bringing up the topic of a collaboration between North America's top two promotions, with one fan expressing their desire to see The American Dragon compete against Charlie Dempsey.

Josh Barnett retweeted the fan and claimed that the only place he could see it happening was at one of his Bloodsport events.

"Only place I can see this happening would be at Josh Barnett's: Bloodsport," wrote Barnett.

Bryan Danielson potentially injured after match against Will Ospreay

Last night's AEW Dynasty pay-per-view offered fans plenty of in-ring action, but the greatest reactions of the night were reserved for the dream match between Bryan Danielson and Will Ospreay.

The two grappled for almost 33 minutes and received huge cheers from the crowd. However, near the end of their bout, Ospreay slammed The American Dragon with a brutal Storm Driver maneuver. Danielson immediately clutched his neck and shoulder, but before ringside doctors could check on him, The Aerial Assassin leveled him with a Hidden Blade and scored a pinfall victory.

Bryan Danielson was helped to the back after the match and received medical treatment. Ospreay later revealed that he intended to retire the Storm Driver – his version of Mitsuharu Misawa's infamous Tiger Driver '91 maneuver – due to the controversy surrounding it, and the fact that it potentially injured The American Dragon.

However, many fans believe that the injury could simply be part of a storyline, as Ospreay made a show of not seeing the ringside doctor being called in before hitting the Hidden Blade. Additionally, Bryan Danielson was helped to the back but did not require a stretcher, neck brace, or any of the precautions typically seen in such a situation.

Only time will tell whether the former WWE Champion is truly injured or not and whether Ospreay trunking the maneuver will play into future angles between the two.
