A WWE Hall of Famer reflected on the AEW veteran Ric Flair's recent shot at Jim Ross' medical condition. The legend also explained why Ric's outburst didn't bother him.
WWE legend and former SmackDown GM Teddy Long is not surprised by Ric Flair's recent behavior. Jim Ross recently announced that he has been diagnosed with colon cancer, and the wrestling fraternity wants him to be healthy soon. However, Flair accused JR of seeking attention in a deleted post on X (fka Twitter).
After facing massive backlash for his post, The Nature Boy clarified that his shot at Jim Ross was a joke and had an outburst on social media as he began replying to all the haters.
Speaking on his Road Trip After Hours podcast, Teddy Long stated that Ric Flair's conduct doesn't surprise him, and he wants to stay away from negativity.
“Nothing surprises me. This is professional wrestling, man. Okay, so nothing surprises me. The thing that I try to do is I try to stay away from all this drama, because I don’t have time for it. You know, God has blessed me. I’m still alive. I’m still getting out doing, you know, seeing the fans and doing my thing, you know, and enjoying myself. So I ain’t got time for all that negativity.” [H/T: wrestlingnews.co]
WWE legend on his negative experiences with Ric Flair
WWE legend Teddy Long was reminded by one of the viewers of his podcast that he once opened up on his own negative experiences with Ric Flair. The former SmackDown GM said that while what he said about Flair was true, he wants to stay away from the negativity.
“I said all that that’s out. That’s in the past. People know… All I know is I told the truth, and that’s the simple thing… anytime I say something about somebody, believe me, it is the truth. Because I’m not going to sit out here and tell a lie. But I’m trying to stay away from all this negativity and just in trying to enjoy my life, and that’s what I’m going to do. So what these guys are saying, all of them, you know, talking about each other and this and that. Stay away from me. I ain’t got time for you.” [H/T: wrestlingnews.co]
The Nature Boy is currently signed with AEW, where he made an appearance last month. Only time will tell when he will be seen again on TV.
