At AEW All Out 2024 Pay-Per-View, Japanese wrestling star Hikaru Shida is set to lock horns with Mercedes Moné, formerly known as Sasha Banks, for the TBS Championship. The 36-year-old star joined the Jacksonville-based company in 2019 and has had a fruitful run so far. Moreover, she is a staggering three-time AEW Women's World Champion.
Hikaru Shida has faced several popular names in the Tony Khan-led promotion such as Nyla Rose, Britt Baker, Serena Deeb, Jamie Hayter, Toni Storm, and more. However, one of her most memorable matches was at All Out 2020 against Thunder Rosa. Heading into this showdown, both competitors held championships. Shida was the AEW Women's World Champion, while Rosa held the NWA World Women's Championship. Only the Japanese star's title was on the line, and she successfully defended it in a grueling 17-minute-long battle.
Interestingly, Thunder Rosa believes that the aforementioned match was instrumental in her career's progress. She recently took to X/Twitter and stated that even though she and Hikaru are not on the best of terms, she is grateful to the latter for making her a force to be reckoned with in the Jacksonville-based promotion's women's division.
"One of the most important moments in my career. One of the most memorable things I have done in 11 years of wrestling. Although @shidahikaru are not seeing eye to eye right now, she helped me cement myself as the heart of this division @aew #lameramera #AllOut," Thunder Rosa shared.

It remains to be seen what the future has in store for the 38-year-old star.
Hikaru Shida got Kamille banned from ringside at AEW All Out 2024
During the latest episode of Dynamite, Hikaru Shida appeared on the big screen above the ramp and delivered a promo. While Mercedes Moné and Kamille were in the squared circle, the 36-year-old star called herself the "ace" of the AEW women's division.
"You are one contender away from looking at the new TBS Champion until that watchdog of yours got involved. You can’t beat the ace! But I have good news," Hikaru Shida said.
Eventually, interim executive vice president Christopher Daniels announced that Moné's ally, Kamille, would be banned from ringside during the former's match against Shida at AEW All Out 2024.
