There appears to be a hiring freeze since Vince McMahon returned to ensure a smooth sale of WWE to the Endeavor Group. However, Triple H might continue his signing spree once the deal is seemingly closed in the second half of this year.

One such name who could make a comeback under the new regime is AEW star Christian Cage. After facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to concussions, Captain Charisma returned at the 2021 Royal Rumble. He soon jumped ship to AEW to write what could be the final chapter of his illustrious career. But history has witnessed stars from yesteryears who return for one last hurrah.

As such, Google AI (Artificial Intelligence) predicted that there's a strong possibility that Hunter might bring back Cage once his AEW contract expires.

"It is possible that Triple H could bring Christian Cage back to WWE. Christian Cage is a talented wrestler who has a lot of experience. He is also a popular figure among fans. Triple H has a history of bringing back former WWE stars, such as Batista and Randy Orton. It is possible that Triple H could see Christian Cage as a valuable asset to the WWE roster."

Bard added that Christian Cage might not want to leave AEW, considering how well the company has booked him.

"However, there are also some factors that could prevent Christian Cage from returning to WWE. Christian Cage has been very successful in AEW. It is possible that Christian Cage is happy with his current situation and does not want to return to WWE."

The Google AI also claimed that the wrestling stalwart's AEW contract will not expire until at least 2024. Recent reports have indicated that Edge wants to share the ring with his best friend one last time before riding off into the sunset.

This could factor into Christian Cage's decision when he's contractually free to work with any company.

Edge has expressed his desire to have one more tag team run with Christian Cage in WWE

Like Christian Cage, Edge has also experienced a late-career renaissance. Since his return, The Rated-R Superstar has done everything except for a tag team run with Captain Charisma.

The tandem briefly reunited at the 2021 Royal Rumble before Cage left the Stamford-based promotion. Soon after, Edge asserted that he would love to team up with the former world champion since there are endless possibilities for them in the tag team division.

"I would love it! I think at some point that would need to happen - just because there's so many opportunities there. Between Edge and Christian against the Usos - I mean, man! Edge and Christian against The New Day, Edge and Christian against Ziggler and Roode, Edge and Christian versus The Street Profits! Not for nothing, Edge and Christian versus Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. There's some stuff there."

As of now, Christian Cage is scheduled to lock horns with Wardlow for TNT Championship in a Ladder match at Double or Nothing. It will be interesting to see if Captain Charisma will successfully capture his first title in AEW.
