Superstar Shake Up: 5 Signs indicating that Roman Reigns will go to SmackDown Live

Let me begin by saying that this is purely a speculative article. I claim to have no inside knowledge that points to me making such a bold assumption. But I can justify why I believe that Reigns will be on brand blue, through this very article! Let me know your thoughts and opinions as well.

The Big Dog had a very interesting 2018, and that's putting it mildly. He became Universal Champion at SummerSlam but had to surrender the Championship owing to a return of leukemia, a disease that has plagued him for many years now. He made a valiant return at WrestleMania standing tall and proud after vanquishing Drew McIntyre, in front of a mixed crowd.

I think that Roman Reigns is in for a reset and that he'll be on brand blue very soon indeed. Expect him to be announced as part of SmackDown Live (results at this location) as part of the Superstar Shake-Up.

If I'm wrong, let me know right here in a week.

#5 WWE has been providing us with hints

While I may be reading too much into these two hints, I daresay that they point to the fact that Roman Reigns may not be a RAW superstar for very long and will become a part of brand blue in the following Superstar Shake-Up. Bear with me as I voice my theories.

The first one is how Roman Reigns, arguably the biggest star in the company did not show up on this week's episode of RAW after WrestleMania 35. I do think that literally every feud on RAW has been exhausted for Reigns. This breather is a clue that indicates the same.

Also, the announcers teased Roman Reigns being a part of SmackDown Live during this week's Smackdown episode. Considering how many lines they're fed from the production truck, I'm certain that this was just a teaser of the things to come.

#4 Rollins is the face of RAW

I mean this as no disrespect to Roman Reigns, but RAW finally has a Universal Champion that everyone can get behind. The WWE Universe has wanted Seth Rollins to be the face of the red brand for a really long time now and finally, he is the Universal Champion. So, the last thing that they need is to see Roman Reigns enter the title picture.

To not have the audience turn on The Big Dog, the simplest thing would be to separate him from Seth Rollins. Both men are locker room leaders in their own right, and if they are separated, they can lend their wisdom and expertise to the younger superstars on both WWE brands.

But most importantly, RAW can create brand new stars by having challengers step up to Seth Rollins. It need not be a stale situation, merely with Reigns and Lesnar this time around competing for the top prize on brand RAW.

#3 No chance of a Shield reunion (for the time being)

One of the possibilities that would have kept Roman Reigns on RAW is a potential Shield reunion. Had Dean Ambrose decided to stick around, I'm quite certain that Reigns would have been a red brand member, for a showdown between The Shield and The New Day down the line.

But, Dean Ambrose is gone and to the best of my knowledge, will not be back for at least 6 months. And this rules out the possibility for a Shield reunion, allowing WWE to actually try out other possibilities.

Of course, Dean Ambrose may be playing us all and it may just be a ruse to create interest in his departure. But whatever the case may be, I doubt that he'll be a part of the proceedings during the Superstar Shake-Up.

And this makes me think that Rollins and Reigns will be in two different brands.

#2 FOX will not get Rousey & would want a replacement

So, SmackDown Live has a new home on FOX from October this year, but there's more to it. FOX had made it very clear to WWE that they want a big name in their ranks. A certain Ronda Rousey.

Now, we know for a fact that Ronda Rousey will not be a part of WWE for the foreseeable future considering that she's made it quite clear that she wants to start a family with her husband, Travis Browne. In fact, reports are indicating that it could be next year before she returns to action once again. Which means that when the FOX deal comes through, they may not get Ronda Rousey.

Which is why WWE may need someone like Roman Reigns to man the fort until her big return. Reigns is a mainstream name and FOX will be happy to have him on board.

#1 He's been on the red brand since the brand split

Let's face it, guys. The Roman Reigns character is stale whether WWE wants to admit it or not. I mean you have a real-life Superman return after defeating a life-threatening illness and stand triumphant at WrestleMania and yet the audience boos him. There's a huge disconnect here that Vince McMahon really needs to address.

And the only way to make someone interesting once again is to press the reset button and initiate a whole change over. I mean look at how much better someone like AJ Styles started doing after the most recent brand split when he became the face of SmackDown Live.

Roman Reigns too can benefit greatly from a change in scenery. I really do think that a program with Kofi Kingston can help both men.

The matches will be good and the crowd heat will be simply electrifying.
