With the release of Black Clover manga's latest batch of chapters, the manga focused on the Magic Knights' fight against Paladin Morgen Faust. This fight effectively saw both Yami Sukehiro and Nacht Faust achieve new forms to take down the Paladin.

While Yami Sukehiro's Demon form was surprising to a point, Nacht's four-way devil union seemed like something that had been coming for a long time. However, the form's appearance was surprising as it saw Nacht manifest eight devil horns on his head.

Such a development suggests that the number of horns directly correlates to the strength possessed by a devil host. However, there is sufficient evidence suggesting otherwise as the number of horns could be used to depict the connection of a devil host with their devil while in unite form. If this is true, Asta and Liebe's connection could be more special than fans realize.

Black Clover: Asta's five horns in Devil Union could be a sign of his strong connection with Liebe

As fans may remember, when Asta first achieved his Black form, he only had one horn. However, as time passed and he learned how to use the anti-magic much better, he manifested another horn. Following that, he manifested his third, fourth, and fifth horns while using Devil Union.

Considering that the Devil Union form depicts Asta's connection with Liebe, this was proof that his connection with Liebe was what saw him become stronger and manifest more horns.

However, such reasoning was put into question when Nacht Faust manifested eight horns while using his four-way devil union. For a moment it seemed like, more horns meant that the devil host was that strong. But as fans may remember, Nacht used his Devil Union with four devils, which means that the power of each devil only manifested two horns each.

For comparison, Supreme Devils like Lucifero and Lucifugus were depicted with four horns each, and they were some of the strongest devils in the underworld. Considering that there was no chance that Nacht Faust's four-way devil union with weak devils could be stronger than Lucifugus or Lucifero, it became evident that the number of horns did not depict strength but the connection with devils.

The sheer fact that Asta manifested five devil horns while being in Unite form speaks volumes about his connection with Liebe.

While it could also depict strength, the reason it has more to do with connection than strength is that there is no way Nacht could defeat any of the four Supreme Devils by himself in Unite form. In addition, while Asta defeated Lucifero while having manifested five horns, he could only do it because he had help from everyone while Lucifero himself was at half-strength.

Therefore, Asta manifesting five horns while using Devil Union has to be a sign of his connection with Liebe.
