Since the start of Black Clover manga, creator Yuki Tabata has been vocal about his fondness for Tite Kubo's Bleach manga and how the Big 3 manga inspired several elements from his series. Surprisingly, Black's Clover's Upcoming chapter 371 is also set to have a Bleach reference as Mereoleona Vermillion turns into Yamamoto Genryusai Shigekuni.

According to the alleged spoilers, Black Clover chapter 371 is set to focus mainly on the remainder of the Mereoleona vs Moris fight. The last time fans saw this fight, it seemed like Mereoleona was at a considerable disadvantage after losing her arm. However, it looks like Mereoleona is set to turn the tables, that too, in Bleach style.

Black Clover chapter 371 sees Mereoleona turn into Bleach's Yamamoto

Black Clover chapter 371 spoilers saw Mereoleona unlock a new spell. After she was overwhelmed by Paladin Moris Libadirt, the manga chapter initiated a flashback scene that revealed how Mereoleona got so strong over time. In the past, she believed that she could become strong by herself, but after being pushed into a corner, she wished to get help from her subordinates.

Fortunately, soon after, the manga chapter saw Mereoleona receiving a new spell in her grimoire, Ultimate Flame Magic: Excelitius Leonum. That spell allowed Mereoleona to have the spirits of her deceased subordinates return to the battlefield to help her tighten her foe.

In the meantime, Mereoleona was engulfed in flames as she had seemingly turned into mana. With such an ability, Mereoleona outwitted Moris' regenerative and decay abilities. Soon after, Mereoleona defeated Paladin Moris Libardirt.

While fans loved Mereoleona's new magic spell, this wasn't the first time anime fans saw a fire user summon the spirits of the deceased people to assist them. In Bleach's Thousand-Year Blood War Arc, the manga saw Yamamoto Genryusai Shigekuni use his Zanka no Tachi, Minami: Kaka Jūmanokushi Daisōjin technique.

This technique allowed Yamamoto to call upon the corpses and ashes of the dead killed by his flames to come forth and fight on his behalf. The charred skeletons would emerge from the ground and become Yamamoto's limbs, allowing him to attack any enemy without moving a muscle.

Yamamoto can also use the technique to summon a particular soul. Such a technique allows him to break his opponent psychologically.

As one can observe, both techniques are very similar. However, there is one huge difference. Yamamoto Genryusai Shigekuni can only summon the corpses of people his flames have burnt. Meanwhile, Mereoleoana's technique is optional. This is because she summoned the spirits of her deceased subordinates.

There is a greater chance that Mereoleona's technique only allows her to summon spirits that look up to her. As she explained, Ultimate Flame Magic: Excelitius Leonum allowed her to have her subordinates follow her even after their death. This hints at the spell requiring the user to bond strongly with her summonings.
