Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto, the creators of the original Naruto series paid a visit to France. They attended a theatrical fest hosted by CGR from August 23-24 this year titled: Night at Konoha. At this event, the French publisher of the manga series interviewed the duo. During this interview, he opened up about the protagonist of the sequel series and compared him to his father. Before this, he and Mikio Ikemoto also made some comments on other aspects of the anime and manga series. The rough translation of Masashi Kishimoto’s comments on the character is as follows:

“Boruto is more capable of analyzing his environment, his surroundings, he has a more skillful side than Naruto. He’s a classy person.”

This comment makes it very clear that Naruto’s son is a more well-rounded shinobi. Naruto was the kind of shinobi who would rush in without strategizing. His emotions dictated his moves and this often landed him in extremely precarious moments. That’s why there have been many situations in the original series that could have been handled better if Naruto had spent some time coming up with a strategy.

His son on the other hand has a better temperament, allowing him to assess his situation better. While there have been times when his emotions got the better of him, they are fewer in number when compared to Naruto. Furthermore, Boruto is a full-fledged Otsutsuki who was able to take on the Shinju entities. Not only did he take on Hidari, but he succeeded in defeating him with relative ease. His fight against Code also indicated his power levels. Code, whose limiters were removed, was no longer a threat.

The protagonist also developed a variant of Rasengan whose effects last as long as the Earth continues to rotate. Furthermore, Sasuke also admitted to observing Boruto master every technique known to the Uchiha Clan. These are clear indications that Naruto has been surpassed by his own. The claim is further backed by Masashi Kishimoto’s statements which were issued in a recent interview that took place in France.
