Demon Slayer season 3 episode 7 gave fans quite a lot to digest, but something that has been stuck in their mind is a face reveal that they have been waiting for since the first season. In the episode, when Mr Haganezuka was focused on polishing Tanjiro's sword, Gyokko, in an attempt to interrupt him, slashed his mask.

The previous episode saw Tanjiro trying to behead Hantengu when the demon's manifestation of hatred attacked him. Elsewhere, Kotetsu helped Muichiro Tokito escape the Gyokko's imprisonment while his thoughts helped him realize that Tanjiro seemed familiar to him because his eyes matched that of his father's.

Demon Slayer: Mr Haganezuka's face is finally revealed

While Mr Haganezuka has been part of Demon Slayer since season 1, his face was never revealed due to his duty as a nichirin swordsmith to maintain anonymity.

However, in Demon Slayer season 3 episode 7, Upper Moon Five Gyokko happened to reveal his face. After trapping Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito in his attack, Gyokko proceeded to enter Kozo Kanamori's shed to find him and Hotaru Haganezuka.

Upon entering the shed, he could see that Haganezuka was completely concentrated on polishing Kamado Tanjiro's blade. Thus, to distract Haganezuka and stop him from refining his art, Gyokko attacked him, giving him several wounds.

Nevertheless, Haganezuka continued to ignore Gyokko and keep polishing the sword. This annoyed Gyokko as he himself was an artist and had never been able to concentrate so deeply on his work.

While the demon could have easily killed the swordsmith, he continued to attack him in hopes of destroying his concentration. During these attacks, Mr Haganezuka's mask fell off, revealing his face.

Regardless of his duty to maintain anonymity, Hotaru Haganezuka did not get distracted as he was too busy with the sword and wanted to refine it to the best condition.

How fans reacted to Mr Haganezuka's face reveal?

Demon Slayer fans could not stop themselves from fawning over Mr Haganezuka as they had no idea how he looked before his face reveal. Until now, the only way they could identify him was due to his mask and his behavior which would see him run after Tanjiro trying to beat some sense into him.

However, now fans can finally see his face as some even believe that his face reveal was more majestic than that of Inosuke Hashibira in season 1. While Inosuke's mask was ragged and wild, his face was pretty. As for Mr Haganezuka, his mask was comedic, while his face looks stern and serious.

Several anime-only fans could not believe that they were laughing at someone so handsome and said that given his face, his behavior does not suit him. However, his determination while polishing Tanjiro's blade is suited to his face. That said, fans were impressed at how concentrated the swordsmith was while working on the sword.

Some Demon Slayer fans even compared Mr Haganezuka's face to that of Tokyo Revengers' Keisuke Baji as they could see similarities between the two characters. However, the similarities scared them as well, given that Baji passed away in Tokyo Revengers, causing fans to fear that Mr Haganezuka could also share the same fate.
