Mitsuri Kanroji, one of the Hashira (elite demon slayers) in the popular anime series Demon Slayer, is known for her unique fighting style and her equally unique sword. However, anime enthusiasts may have noted that Mitsuri Kanroji’s sword is rather different from the typical katana swords used by the other Hashira.

First off, it's important to understand that the swords used by the demon slayers in Demon Slayer are called Nichirin swords. The peculiar ore used to make these swords can only be found in the highest of mountains closest to the sun. The ore is said to be imbued with the power of the sun and can only be forged by a skilled swordsmith. While Mitsuri Kanroji's sword is a Nichirin sword, it is different from the ones used by the other Harshira.

Why Mitsuri Kanroji's sword is unique in the Demon Slayer series

Mitsuri’s sword is pink but that's not the only thing that sets it apart from the other swords. To be more specific, Mitsuri's Sword is more like a sharp whip than a katana. However, she carries with her a normal sized sheath, and to put it back in the sheath, she probably needs to fold and wrap it several times or she may possess the ability to turn it into the average Nichirin sword.

Each Nichirin sword is unique, and the color of the blade changes based on the user's personality. So, what makes Mitsuri Kanroji's sword different?

The answer lies in Mitsuri's personality. She is renowned for being compassionate and caring, and she consistently attempts to see the best in other people. Her sword reflects this aspect of her personality and symbolizes her love and compassion towards others.

In addition to her unique sword, Mitsuri's fighting style is also different from the other Hashira. She uses a technique called Love Breathing, which allows her to channel her emotions and use them as a source of power. This technique represents her love and compassion for people and is connected to her sword's design.

Another reason why her sword is different is simply because it's the type of weapon that makes the most out of Mitsuri's Love Breathing Style, her unique muscle density, and her absurd flexibility. Mitsuri's body has a special muscular composition that makes her muscles eight times denser than a regular humans', and she also has a rather significant appetite in order to maintain this composition.

Although her body can become quite muscular, she is also incredibly flexible, which allows her to fight using range. It is the primary reason how she’s able to control her whip-like katana so easily. When combined with her Love Breathing method, this gives her the capacity to land and deflect strong hits.

One of the highlights of the Swordsmith Village arc is the revelation of the Love Hashira’s Nichirin Sword as it's quite absurd compared to any other weapon in the series, including Gyomei's Niichirin Ball and Chain.

Her sword is a reflection of who she is as a person and her fighting style, which is based on the "Love Breathing" technique, further emphasizing her compassionate nature. Mitsuri is a beloved character in the series, and her unique sword is just one of the many reasons why fans love her.
