A quick recap of episode 8
Heavenly Delusion episode 8 began with Kiruko and Maru accompanying Dr. Usami in the Immortal Order HQ. He had requested their help with killing a man-eater, and the duo obliged.
They were shocked to see that it was the same human being that Mizuhashi described. The body was torn apart and attached to various machines that kept it alive. He explained to Maru and Kiruko that this human being was infected by the same virus that turns someone into a Hiruko.
Dr. Usami merely reduced the rate of progression, preventing her from becoming a man-eater. Maru killed the girl, who had thanked Dr. Usami for everything that he had done for her, moments before she died.
Liviuman took this opportunity to launch an assault on the Immortal Order, and even resorted to using weapons. Liviuman saw a new leader emerge from the chaos and they managed to access the building that once belonged to the Immortal Order.
Kiruko was shocked to know that Robin had worked with Dr. Usami, which meant that she was close to locating him. Maru and Kiruko shared an extremely emotional moment when they saw Dr. Usami take his own life after watching his loved one die.
What to expect in episode 9?
Based on the preview seen towards the end of the previous episode, the upcoming episode of Heavenly Delusion will most likely focus on the proceedings taking part within the walls. Mimihime seems to be transported to a mysterious place, and she was happy to meet someone she knew. The upcoming episode might focus on who that person was.
Similarly, it is also quite likely that Maru and Kiruko would investigate the pin that Usami was holding on to. Their reason for coming to Tokyo was to investigate the crest, and it seems like they might finally have a clue of what that pin symbolizes. This is a key piece of information that will connect Mikura, her past, and Maru’s true goal.
