Boruto Two Blue Vortex chapter 14 was released on September 21, 2024, and the chapter saw the escape of the protagonist even though he was just captured by the Hidden Leaf shinobi in the previous chapter. The biggest part in this escape was played by Shikamaru and Mitsuki, who sneakily helped the protagonist escape without being noticed.

However, one thing in the chapter was very strange, which was how the protagonist didn't tell everyone that Kawaki had his parents sealed inside a separate time-space and just told them that they were safe. This could be an indication that Kawaki could change his goals from killing the protagonist to joining him in the mission to kill the God Trees.

Boruto Two Blue Vortex chapter 14 was centered around the interrogation of the protagonist after he was captured when the God Trees escaped. The interrogation went surprisingly well, as the protagonist didn't hold back on any secrets and told Konohamru and the village leaders everything he knew about the God Trees and their plan to destroy Earth.

However, things took a turn when Konohamaru asked him about his source, Kashin Koji. As the protagonist had to keep the identity of ally a secret, he didn't tell anyone of them of his source and faced the fury of Ibiki, who was waiting to beat the protagonist since he allegedly heard about the village leader's death.

However, the protagonist added that the Seventh Hokage was still alive and somewhere safe, but he didn't specify anything more than that. This was a surprise because Eida and her brother were also expecting the protagonist to reveal the truth about Kawaki to the village leaders.

However, he kept quiet about it and unanimously stated that Naruto and Hinata were safe somewhere, surprising Eida and Daemon and fortifying Kawaki's standing in the village. This was an indication that the feelings Kawaki shared towards the protagonist weren't the same the other way around.

Where Kawaki is adamant about killing the protagonist, due to the Otsutsuki he bores inside him, the protagonist just wants to protect Kawaki and not use violent tactics against him. This was also evident from the first time the protagonist met Kashin Koji, where in the numerous possible futures, everyone showed that the protagonist and Kawaki had to fight to the death.

However, the protagonist denied all those futures and stated that he would try his best to bring his brother Kawaki back on the good side. After witnessing this gesture from the protagonist, Kawaki could have converted to the good side, but not in the way the fandom is expecting.

He could now be willing to enter a truce with the protagonist until they took care of the current calamity, the Nine-tails' God Trees. With the protagonist's knowledge of the future (through Kashin Koji) and Kawaki's expertise in battle, these two could defeat the God Trees and protect their planet from getting destroyed.
