A Wild Last Boss Appeared! anime confirms October 2025 release date and more with new PV

On Friday, August 29, 2025, the official staff unveiled the second promotional video for A Wild Last Boss Appeared! anime. The short clip confirmed the anime's October 4, 2025, release date, ending theme song, and video game adaptation.

A Wild Last Boss Appeared! anime is an adaptation of the author Firehead and illustrator Yahako's Japanese light novel series of the same name. Earth Star Entertainment serialized the light novels from February 2016 to April 2019, and published nine tankobon volumes.

The novels also have a manga adaptation, with Tsubasa Hazuki's illustrations. The manga version has been serialized on the Comic Earth Star site since June 2017.

A Wild Last Boss Appeared! anime set to premiere on October 4, 2025

According to the latest promotional video from the official staff on Friday, August 29, 2025, A Wild Last Boss Appeared! anime is set to air its episodes every Saturday at 10:30 pm JST on Tokyo MX from October 4, 2025. The series will also be broadcast on BS Asahi and Kansai TV on October 5, 2025.

The second PV for A Wild Last Boss Appeared! anime depicts the wrath of Ruphas Mafahl and includes other important characters who will appear in the series. Moreover, the trailer reveals and previews the ending theme song, Migi Hidari, performed by Yuka Nagase. It was earlier confirmed that Kishida Kyodan & The Akeboshi Rockets would sing the opening theme, Level wo Agete Butsuri de Nagaru.

Additionally, the official staff has announced the franchise's video game adaptation. Titled A Wild Last Boss Appeared! ~Black-Winged Survivor~, the game will be launched on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on October 5, 2025, and on Steam on October 6, 2025. The game will be available in Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.

Yuya Horiuchi directs the fantasy anime at Studio Wao World, with WOWMAX in charge of the production. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu handles the series scripts, while Maiko Ebisawa is the character designer. TECHNOBOYS PULCRAFT GREEN-FUND is the music composer, while Takashi Kobayashi and Shota Ueno are the sub-character designers.

Based on the original light novels, A Wild Last Boss Appeared! anime follows Ruphas, who is a character from an MMO Game named Exgate Online. She was feared as the Black-Winged Tyrant and the leader of the Twelve Heavenly Stars, until she was defeated.

One day, a man wakes up in Ruphas' body and realizes that he is in a game. However, it's no longer a "game," but a reality, where he can die. As such, the series will explore Ruphas's re-emergence as an overlord.
