On Saturday, November 30, 2024, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for Ameku Takao's Detective Karte anime shared a new promotional video. The short clip reveals the show's January 2, 2025, release date, additional cast, and the details regarding theme songs and their artists. Along with this information, the staff unveiled a new key visual.
Ameku Takao's Detective Karte anime is based on the Japanese medical mystery novel series by author Mikito Chinen and illustrator Noizi Ito. Shinchosa serialized a manga adaptation of the novels with Hiroki Ohara's art from April 2016 to March 2018. Recently, since September 2024, Kodansha's Good! Afternoon magazine has begun a new manga adaptation, with Eri Takenashi's illustrations.
Ameku Takao's Detective Karte anime's new trailer confirms the January 2, 2025 release date
The official staff for Ameku Takao's Detective Karte anime streamed the second promotional video on Saturday, November 30, 2024, to confirm the series' January 2, 2025, release date.
Broadcast information has also arrived, according to which, Ameku Takao's Detective Karte anime will air its episodes every Thursday, at 12 AM JST, on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11, starting January 2, 2025 (stylized as January 1, 2025, at 24:00 JST).
The medical mystery anime will also air on Chukyo TV on January 6, 2025, at 2:46 AM JST, Yomiuri TV on January 7, 2025, from 1:59 AM JST, Ryukyu Asahi Broadcasting on January 7, 2024, at 12:30 AM JST, and Animax, on January 25, 2025, at 6:30 PM JST.
Ameku Takao's Detective Karte anime will also be available on Crunchyroll for fans in North America, South America, Central America, Africa, Europe, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.
The latest trailer gives fans a glimpse of the show's plot and features Takao Ameku, Mai Konoike, Yu Takanashi, and the newly announced characters. Junichi Suwabe, noted for voicing Ryomen Sukuna in Jujutsu Kaisen, stars as Ryuya Naruse, a detective who's skeptical of Ameku.
Hiroaki Hirata voices Kimiyasu Sakurai, the assistant inspector of the Metropolitan Police Department's First Investigative Division. The anime also credits Miyuki Sawashiro, who features as Junko Sumida.
Additionally, Ryota Takeuchi, Miyu Tomita, Takahiro Sakurai, Renka Iwamoto, Haruka Aoi, Akio Otsuka, Yui Ishikawa, Shion Wakayama, Akira Ishida, Kikunosuke Toya, and Haruka Aoki stars in unspecified roles.
The anime stars Ayane Sakura as Takao, Manaka Iwami as Mai Konoike, Kensho Ono as Yu Takanashi, Nana Mizuki as Mazuru Ameku, and Fumihiko Tachiki as Owashi Ameku.
Notably, the promotional video also previews the opening theme song, Scope, performed by Aimer, while Gospellers sings the ending theme, Will Be Fine feat. Anly. Comments from the theme song artists have arrived, and they urged fans to listen to the songs.
Besides the trailer, a new key visual for Ameku Takao's Detective Karte anime has been revealed. The illustration features Takao, Mai, Yuu, Oowashi, Mazuru, and other important characters from the series. Takao Ameku is at the center of the visual, appearing delighted.
Staff and the plot of Ameku Takao's Detective Karte anime
Kazuya Iwata directs the series at Project No.9, with Satoru Sugizawa in charge of the series composition. Satoru-san is also co-writing the scripts with Yuko Kakihara.
Yuka Takashina is credited as the character designer, with Tsutomu Miyazawa, Mikio, and Ryo Hirata as sub-character designers. Fox Capture Plan composes the music, while Tomoyuki Harada is enlisted for Medical Supervision.
Based on Chinen's novels, Ameku Takao's Detective Karte anime will explore a medical mystery story centering on the genius doctor Takao Ameku, who solves murders and mysteries of unknown causes that police can't pinpoint.
