On Friday, June 13, 2025, the official staff unveiled the second promotional video for The Water Magician anime, confirming the release date of July 4, 2025. Furthermore, the staff announced nine additional cast members and revealed details about the opening and ending theme songs.
The Water Magician anime is based on author Tadashi Kudo and illustrator Nokito's eponymous Isekai light novel series. The series was initially serialized on the Shosetsuka ni Naro site as a web novel until it was moved to TO Books and was published as a light novel series in March 2021. A manga version with Bokutengo's art has been serialized on the Nico Nico Seiga site.

According to the second promotional video, The Water Magician anime will air its episodes every Friday at 1:28 am JST on TBS, starting July 4, 2025 (stylized as Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 25:28 JST). Additionally, the anime will air on BS11 at 11 pm JST from July 4, 2025. The series will be digitally distributed on d Anime Store, U-NEXT, and other services.
Furthermore, Crunchyroll has announced that it will stream The Water Magician anime in North America, South America, Central America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, CIS, the Middle East, and the Indian subcontinent, as it airs in Japan.
The latest trailer shows Ryo— the male protagonist— discovering his water abilities, after being reincarnated as a Water Magician in the World of Phi. The promotional video also highlights the fantastical world and its magical beasts.

Moreover, the video reveals and previews the opening theme, Blue Motion, performed by the Honorary Legends. The official staff also confirmed that Misaki has sung the ending theme song, Tayuta Uma Ni. Comments from the respective artists have arrived on the anime's site, where they revealed their thought processes behind the songs.

Staff and the brief synopsis of The Water Magician anime

Hideyuki Satake directs the Isekai anime at the joint production of Typhoon Graphics and Wonderland, with Jun Kumagai handling the series scripts. Yuka Kozutsumi is the show's character designer. Sayaka Aoki is in charge of the series' music, while Hajime Takakuwa is the sound director.
Based on the original light novel series, The Water Magician anime centers on Ryo, who reincarnates into Phi, a fantastical realm filled with magic. Ryo discovers his aptitude for water magic and is thrilled to live a quiet life in this world.
However, he confronts various challenges in living in the remote land. Yet, he is blessed with a skill, Eternal Youth. As such, twenty years pass in the blink of an eye, and the male protagonist remains the same. The anime will capture Ryo's journey as the greatest wizard in humanity.
