Thereafter, their party leader, Song Chi-Yul, discusses strategies with the protagonist about how to escape the dungeon, recognizing that Jin-Woo is the only individual capable of deciphering the rules necessary for survival.

This second installment also showcases the opening song, titled LEveL, by Sawano Hiroyuki and TOMORROW X TOGETHER.

Following the opening theme, Solo Leveling episode 2 shifts its focus to introduce Jin-Woo's younger sister, Sung Jinah, and her friend Han Song-Yi. The two characters are shown at their school, engaging in a brief conversation about the protagonist and his career as a hunter.

The narrative then returns to the Cartenon Temple, where Jin-Woo and Chi-Yul continue to devise an escape plan from the dungeon. A panicked hunter attempts to escape but this results in him dying due to the Statue of God's laser strike.

This prompts Jin-Woo to discern the dungeon's rules. Putting his own life at risk to test his theories about the rules, the protagonist successfully deciphers the first commandment, "Worship the God."

Following Sung Jin-Woo's instructions, all the party members kneel before the statue, meeting the requirements of the first rule and successfully averting the laser strikes.

Nevertheless, the Statue of God then initiates its next attack. Before Jin-Woo can understand the trick to the second commandment, "Praise the God," numerous party members die after they are crushed under the statue's feet.

Despite the initial setback, Jin-Woo eventually discovers the key to surviving the second phase. The remaining party members follow the protagonist’s instructions again and survive. However, during this time, Jin-Woo himself sustains severe injuries and loses one of his legs in the process.

In Solo Leveling episode 2, Joohee attempts to heal Jin-Woo’s leg but fails. Concurrently, the dungeon initiates its third attack, accompanied by the appearance of an altar. The group puts all the blame on their captain, compelling Chi-Yul to become the sacrifice to fulfill the third commandment, "Believe the God."

Contrary to the group's assumptions, Jin-Woo deduces that the altar is not meant for a sacrifice but rather functions as a timer to test their faith. Thus, the remaining members move within the altar's circle. This opens the dungeon gate.

Tempted by the opportunity, they all escape, leaving only Jin-Woo, Joohee, and Chi-Yul behind.

Chi-Yul proposes himself as the sacrifice, urging Jin-Woo and Joohee to make their escape. Nevertheless, Jin-Woo insists that he should be the one to stay behind, considering his lost foot and Joohee's immobility due to overusing her magic.

A brief scene in Solo Leveling episode 2 also features Jin-Woo's sick mother at the hospital and his sister visiting her.
