Dragon Ball fans are known for being extremely passionate about their favorite series and this was proved once again by a person on X named @smubiess who made a fanart of the story as a magical girl anime. This is something that made the post go viral online, with a lot of fans wishing for this to be a spinoff and praising the designs this user came up with.
Moreover, @smubiess came up with some general premises for this Dragon Ball spinoff, such as Goku and Vegeta as little girls who go to school together. The thread on X also features several other fanarts involving the likes of Nappa, Raditz, and Frieza, while also explaining the roles they have in this story, adding to the experience.

Dragon Ball fanart has people asking for a magical girl spinoff
As mentioned earlier, a person on X named @smubiess came up with designs and fanart of what would be a spinoff of author Akira Toriyama's most prominent series. For those who don't know, a magical girl anime is usually about a lady, usually a child, getting special powers and going through adventures while trying to balance her normal life.
This version has Goku and Vegeta as little girls who go to school together and get into a lot of trouble. The author depicted Vegeta as a spoiled child, mostly as a reference to his role as the Saiyan Prince in the original series, and having Nappa and Raditz, still, as grown men, serving as her overly protective bodyguards, also serving as a reference to the role they had within the Frieza Force.
Speaking of Frieza, there was also a fanart of the galactic tyrant as an evil businesswoman. All of this was depicted in good fun and the vast majority of the fandom embraced it, thus showing the reach and passion that this series has accumulated throughout the years.
Reactions online
The post, as mentioned earlier, didn't go unnoticed and a lot of Dragon Ball fans started to ask questions and make suggestions for future fan-arts. This goes to show how much interest there is for a different spin on the series and the degree of talent that this fandom has, which goes from artists to even animation, as shown recently with a piece done for Gogeta by another fan.
There were already a lot of details involved in this fan concept, such as Goku and Raditz still being siblings and the latter having to pretend to be mean to the former because he works for Vegeta. Furthermore, there are also some ideas floating around, such as having Bardock around as their father and a former soldier, referring to his time at the Frieza Force.
"The nappa and raditz bodyguards omg," someone said.
"Oh my gods its adorable," another person said.
"In my opinion, this would be neat as a What If story," someone else said.
It is a fun concept and one that shows that Dragon Ball still has one of the most passionate and dedicated fanbases in all of anime.
