"What happens when you face one of Japan's top young stars with everything on the line? That's Teruaki Sato, six-foot lefty with a violent swing," Baeur said. "He's even taken MLB arms deep in the past, and if I miss even once, he'll make me pay. First pitch, splitter. I tried to get it up and freeze him, but I missed. Ball one, so I slow it down. Curveball on the outer third, he watches it for strike one. You can tell here he didn't like the call, that told me he's going to be patient, but still hunting for his pitch."

"Next pitch, I go fastball, up and in that backs him off the plate for ball two. Now I've shown the off-speed and heater, so I double down on another splitter, he turns on it and crushes it foul. I had a feeling he was starting to time me up, so I try to steal one on the edge.

"A curveball, low and outside corner that barely missed for ball three, now we have a full count, everything's on the table. I'm going down and in the dirt, he swings over it for strike three." Bauer added
