Andy Flower is Zimbabwe's finest ever, batsman

Consideredhe greatest Zimbabwean batsman and wicket-keeper of all-time, Andy Flower was dismissed four times by the Indian superstar. During a ten year career, Flower was part of his country's golden generation of cricketers and played over 200 ODI's and 63 test matches.

Amassing over 6000 runs in ODI's and 4000 runs in test cricket, the former captain is statically the finest batsmen ever produced from the country. Flower has also worked as a batting coach for England and was promoted to head coach for a short period.

"There are two kinds of batsmen in the world. One, Sachin Tendulkar. Two, all the others," said Andy Flower when asked about the Little Master. However, the bowling of the master blaster got rid of the expert Flower in an ODI at Jodhpur in 2000. As India took on Zimbabwe with the visitors chasing 284, Flower scored an impressive 77 before getting out caught behind, although the Africans did manage to win the ODI with a ball to spare.

Tendulkar picked up the wicket of the steady opening batsmen, Flower four times more than most players, as the Zimbabwean was a hard man to stop once he got started. Converting most of his starts to big scores, Andy Flower had to be dismissed early to avoid him setting the pace.
