Starting from October 05, India is set to host the ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023. The high-octane tournament will take place across the length and breadth of the countrỵ
A total of 48 matches (45 league stage matches and 3 knockouts) will be played between ten teams and across ten selected venues. It will be the first time the prestigious tournament is held entirely in India. India have previously co-hosted three editions – 1987, 1996, and 2011.

Cricket World Cup 2023 Venue - Narendra Modi Stadium (Ahmedabad)
The newly-constructed Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host some highly anticipated fixtures at the 2023 ODI World Cup. With a capacity of over 1,32,000 seats it is the world’s biggest cricket stadium.
Apart from the tournament-opener between England and New Zealand, the Narendra Modi Stadium will also host the high-octane clash between India and Pakistan. The iconic battle between Australia and England will also take place here before the summit clash on November 19.

Cricket World Cup 2023 Venue - M Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bengaluru)
A small ground with a fast outfield and a batting-friendly track, a lot of runs can be expected at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The first match at the venue will be played between Australia and Pakistan, while India will compete against the Netherlands here. The IND-NED clash will also be the last league stage game (Match 45) of the ODI World Cup 2023.

Cricket World Cup 2023 Venue - M. A. Chidambaram Stadium (Chennai)
Muthiah Annamalai (M.A.) Chidambaram Stadium, or Chepauk Stadium, is located near a coastal region in Chennai. It is one of the oldest cricket grounds in India, having been established in 1912.
The venue will host India’s opening 2023 ODI World Cup game against Australia. Apart from this, all three of Pakistan, New Zealand, and Afghanistan will play two matches each at the MA Chidambaram Stadium during the tournament.

Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium will host five matches of the ODI 2023 World Cup. India will play against Afghanistan on October 11 at this venue. The Arun Jaitley Stadium, formerly known as the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, largely assists spin bowling. However, with small boundaries either side, batters are likely to fancy their chances as well.

Cricket World Cup 2023 Venue - Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium (Hyderabad)
Situated in the southern part of the country, the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium is a favorable place to bat early as the pitch in the second innings helps spinners and medium-pace bowlers. The surface starts to spin as the ball approaches the bat slowly. The surface is typically dry and challenging, which helps bowlers with bounce and spin.
Unlike other stadiums, the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium will only host three group stage encounters at the ODI 2023 World Cup. Pakistan and the Netherlands will play the opening game of the venue on October 06.
However, the stadium will also host two matches of the warm-up round; between Pakistan and New Zealand, and between Pakistan and Australia.

Cricket World Cup 2023 Venue - Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai)
The Stadium where India lifted their second ODI World Cup title, the Wankhede Stadium has become an iconic cricket ground in the country. It is again a batting-friendly stadium, where fans can expect a plethora of runs to be scored.
A repeat of the ODI World Cup 2011 final, India and Sri Lanka will lock horns against each other at the Wankhede Stadium in Match no. 33 of the tournament.
Remarkably, the stadium will also host the first semi-final of the 2023 mega event.

The second stadium from the state of Maharashtra to feature on the list is Pune’s MCA Stadium. It is located in the Gahunje area in Pune district. The MCA Stadium is a high-scoring ground, with an average first-innings total of 307 in ODIs.
The maiden 2023 ODI World Cup match in Pune will be played between India and Bangladesh on October 19.
