Spinners: Ravichandran Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav

India will be sweating over the fitness of ace spinner and, more recently, batting saviour R Ashwin. The offie had a back tweak to contend with, in addition to several body blows, and the Indian team would be hoping that one of the biggest bowling threats in India's arsenal is fit to play.

As has been the tradition in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Kuldeep Yadav might play the final game for his team. His performances against Australia on debut in Dharamsala, and on tour in Sydney, should inspire the team management to take this selection call. A handy batsman in first-class cricket, Kuldeep will be expected to hang around with the bat as well if selected.

Pacers: Shardul Thakur, Navdeep Saini, Mohammed Siraj

RCB bowling duo Saini and Siraj will have a lot of responsibility without Jasprit Bumrah.

In line to start his Test career against the West Indies at home, Shardul Thakur had a shocker as he left the field, injured with less than two overs bowled. With a rookie pace bowling attack for support, the responsibility on Thakur increases - he does have experience for India in the shorter formats to go with a strong domestic record. Additionally, he can contribute with the bat.

Navdeep Saini was expensive in his debut game, particularly in his initial spells, although he did pick up wickets with the help of his pace and bounce. He should look to use the opportunity as one to learn and cement his place among India's back-up pacers.

Mohammed Siraj looked uncomfortable while batting, and he will hope his role in that department is limited. Just two Tests in, however, he has shown remarkable control and accuracy with the ball, and has delivered on the promise shown from his domestic record. As the most experienced pacer of the side - yes, really - expect Siraj to grow in confidence and deliver for India.
