After a string of disappointments, Suryakumar Yadav has finally earned a national team call-up. The selectors had left everyone shocked after not selecting Suryakumar for the limited-overs series against Australia. It came after the IPL 2020, where he scored 480 runs from 16 matches.

But this time around, the Chetan Sharma-led panel showed trust in Suryakumar's batting abilities.
Although he will have to fight it out for a spot in the middle-order in the presence of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer among a few, but the 30-year-old has responded with a strong answer every time a challenge has been thrown at him.
Meanwhile, Suryakumar has celebrated his call-up with brilliant knocks for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. His scores read - 50, 29, 133, 29, and 91 in the five matches he played in the tournament.
He will be keen to make this opportunity count and cement his place in the Indian side with the T20 World Cup to follow.
