No better way to start this list than one of the most anticipated survival horror titles in recent times. After RE8: Village, players have been looking forward to the next mainline installment in the survival horror series. Dying Light: The Beast is a standalone adventure that puts you in the shoes of the first game's protagonist, Kyle Crane. After being tortured by the Baron for years, you escape the site and plan revenge on him. The sequel features the signature aspects of the Dying Light franchise, like an open-world survival horror experience with satisfying melee combat and parkour.

That said, there are also some additions to the series formula, like a beast mode. It transforms Kyle into a monster and allows him to rip zombies to shreds with his bare hands. You also gain a new 4x4 vehicle, allowing you to travel off-road.

3) Stranger Than Heaven

Stranger Than Heaven, originally dubbed Project Century, is the new single-player game by Ryu Ga Gotoku. The developer provided consecutive hits with the recent Like A Dragon titles, however, this is its first new IP in a long time. The trailer puts you in the shoes of a detective named Mako Daito. While the last trailer dropped you in 1914, the new one skips ahead to 1984.

Thus, with a codename like Project Century, the narrative will probably jump across different years. The Summer Game Fest 2025 trailer focuses on the survival mechanics of the title. You can see hunger and thirst meters in the HUD in a brief shot. Thus, it looks like Stranger Than Heaven will have some simulation and survival elements as well.
