With the Year 10 Season 2 release right on the horizon, console gamers are wondering whether they can play R6 Siege X on Xbox One. The answer is yes, Rainbow Six Siege X will be playable on Xbox One, but there are a few conditions that players must be aware of. This is because Siege X is set to usher in a new era in Ubisoft's premier shooter, and it makes use of new graphical and sound engine upgrades to that end.

Alongside these two primary changes, Siege X will also feature various core gameplay changes as well as a brand-new primary game mode. Dubbed Operation Daybreak, R6's Year 10 Season 2 will arrive on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

This article will go over the condition that pertains to the availability of Siege X on Xbox One and what users of this console can expect to get out of Year 10 Season 2 Operation Daybreak.

The new era of R6 will be available on the following platforms across consoles and PC:

  • PlayStation 5
  • PlayStation 4
  • Xbox Series X/S
  • Xbox One
  • Windows PC (Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Store, and Steam)

However, Xbox One and PS4 users should note that only the Core Siege is going to be playable on these platforms after Siege X releases. This means that game modes like Casual, Arcade, Unranked, and Ranked will be available for Xbox One players.

The new game mode, Dual Front, which features the massive District map and a 6v6 format, will not be available in Siege X on Xbox One or PS4. Unfortunately, the specifications of these older consoles will not support the new mode.

Siege X, due to its major graphical overhaul, has higher system requirements compared to Rainbow Six Siege up until Year 10 Season 1 Operation Prep Phase. This change has followed the extremely controversial removal of the Vulkan API and the implementation of DirectX 12 as the only API for Ubisoft's premier shooter.
