Reverse 1999 version 1.9 update: New main story chapter, banners, events, Tuning feature, garments and more

The Reverse 1999 version 1.9 update, which Bluepoch will release on September 19, 2024, marks the game's first anniversary. Bluepoch will roll out the version globally after closed server maintenance. The forthcoming update includes various free rewards, a new main story chapter, banners, and events. It will also introduce a new Tuning feature, game mode, Anecdotes, and more.

This article gives a complete overview of the upcoming version 1.9 update in Reverse 1999.

Reverse 1999 version 1.9 update: New Main story chapter

Bluepoch will add a new main story - Chapter 7, Vereinsamt - in the forthcoming Reverse 1999 version 1.9 update. The story unfolds 24 hours before the "Storm", when soldiers trample over a circle of wise men and fanatics set art on fire. Amidst the chaos, some stand their ground and hope for a better future. Players must first clear Chapter 6, E Lucevan Le Stelle, to be eligible for Vereinsamt.

A new main event will be available from September 19 to October 28, 2024. Players can participate in it after clearing the In Our Time story chapter. They can complete new story stages to earn Daily Meal and possibly Picrasma Gummy during the event. The gummy is time-limited and grants a small amount of Cellular Activity.

Players can exchange the Daily Meal in-game item in the event shop, Vending Machine. The shop will be available from September 19 to October 31, 2024. Players can exchange Daily Meal for a new Reverse 1999 Psychube, Steps Forward, Gluttony, Crystal Casket, Unilog, and more.

Additionally, there are multiple sub-events in the main event. Here are the details:

1) Beginning of the End

This event will be available from September 19 to October 28, 2024, at 04:59 UTC-5. Players must clear Chapter 7, Stage 21 (A Homage Paid) to participate in the event. The event offers two stages: Deployment and Breakout. Players must capture three points in Deployment to unlock the Breakout. They must then defeat all enemies in the Breakout to clear the stage.

In Deployment, some ally characters will join the players’ teams after capturing the corresponding points. Players must use their support skills strategically, to boost their combat prowess in the Breakout stage.

Beginning of the End also offers another mode, Final Replay, with three difficulties. Players can unlock subsequent difficulty levels by clearing the previous ones. They can enter the battles in Final Replay by spending Medal Fluid, obtained by clearing stages in Chapter 7, Vereinsamt. The main rewards from this sub-event include Sonorous Knell and Insight Materials.

2) The “Storm” Research

This event will be permanently available after the Reverse 1999 version 1.9 update. Players must complete Stage 5 (Four Cross-Check) of Chapter 7 to participate in the event. They will uncover clues about the “Storm” as the story unfolds in the new chapter, and must then piece the information together to gain insights to overcome the “Storm.”

3) 24 H before the “Storm”

This event will start from September 19 to October 28, 2024, at 04:59 UTC-5. It offers various tasks that players can complete to obtain Daily Meal as the main reward.

Thoughts In Cylinder

This banner will be available from September 19 to October 31, 2024, in the Reverse 1999 version 1.9 update. It features a new 6-star character, Lucy of Intelligence Afflatus, and two 5-star ones - X of Intelligence Afflatus and Necrologist of Mineral Afflatus. Thoughts in Cylinder is an anniversary-limited banner and won’t share guarantees with other banners.

Lucy will be available to pull only in the Thoughts in Cylinder banner. Each pull in the banner grants a Cassette of the Lost. Upon accumulating 200 cassettes, players can exchange them for one copy of Lucy, X, or Necrologist.

Observation Into The Mirror

This banner will go live from October 10 to October 31, 2024, in the Reverse 1999 version 1.9 update. It features a 6-star character, Kakania of Plant Afflatus, and two 5-star characters, Satsuki and Diggers of Plant Afflatus.

Promise of the Water

The Promise of the Water banner will be available from September 21 to October 12, 2024. Players can select one 6-star character from the designated list for a boosted rate. Here is the list of designated 6-star characters:

Players can perform the first 10x Summon at a 50% discount with only 5 Unilogs. They have a 50% chance to obtain the selected character when the banner drops a 6-star Reverse 1999 character.

Here is the list of new events in Reverse 1999 version 1.9 update:

Flying to Therapist: It is Lucy’s character story that will be live from September 19 to October 31, 2024. Players can obtain Clear Drops and Growth Materials as the main rewards.
Through the Glass: It is Kakania’s character story that will run from October 10 to October 31, 2024. The event’s main rewards include Clear Drops and Growth Materials.
The Three Doors - Beneath the Ashes: The new iteration of The Three Doors: Beneath the Ashes will be available in the Reverse 1999 version 1.9 update. Players must complete the Trail of the Chapter 5 Stage 3 main story to participate. They can obtain Clear Drops, Gluttony, and Growth Materials as the main rewards.
New Anecdotes: Bluepoch will introduce Semmelweis’ Anecdote, The Third Circumstance, and Eagle’s, Finding Xavier. Semmelweis’ Anecdote will be available from September 28 to October 12, 2024. Eagle’s Anecdote will be available from October 12 to October 26, 2024. Players can get 5-star Psychubes and Greed as the main rewards.
Mane’s Bulletin: A new iteration of Mane’s Bulletin will be available from September 26 to October 31, 2024. Players can get Gluttony, Greed, Polarization, Resonance Materials, and Insight Materials as the main rewards.
UTTU Spotlight Edition - Fire Thieves: A new iteration of UTTU Spotlight Edition, Fire Thieves, will be available in the Reverse 1999 version 1.9 update. The UTTU Joint Sales Outlet: Area 1 to 5 will go live from October 10 to October 24, 2024. Area 6 will be available from October 17 to October 24, 2024. The UTTU Shop will open from October 10 to October 31, 2024. Players can get Mesmer Jr.'s garment, A Day to Rest, Limited Portrait, Crystal Casket, and Growth Materials as the main rewards.
Flea Market & Gold Rush: This event will be available from October 26 to October 31, 2024. It gives Clear Drops, Picrasma Candy, and Growth Materials as the main rewards.

A New Tuning feature, Unfinished Tune, will be available in the Reverse 1999 version 1.9 update. Players can get it by clearing Chapter 7, Stage 12 of the main story. Here are the effects of Unfinished Tune:

General: Allied Incantation Draw Limit +1.
Incantation 1: Generates two rank-one precast incantations for an ally.
Incantation 2: Removes the rightmost non-Ultimate incantation in the Spelldock and grants Moxie +10 to the Timekeeper.

In addition to the above discussed, several new content will be available in the Reverse 1999 version 1.9 update. Here is the list:

New Difficulty: A new difficulty, Breezy, will be available in version 1.9 update. It unlocks after clearing Chapter 3, Nouvelles et Textes pour Rien, of the main story. Playing stages in Breezy mode doesn’t consume Cellular Activity, and grants reduced Clear Drops and materials.
New Permanent game mode: A new permanent game mode, The Window to Other Worlds, will be available in the Reverse 1999 version 1.9 update. It unlocks after clearing Chapter 3, Nouvelles et Textes pour Rien, of the main story. Players can get a 5-star character named Lorelei, For Tomorrow Building Decor Style, Delicate Insight Materials, and more as rewards.
Mood Switch: Mood Switch is a new feature that will be available permanently after the forthcoming update. Players can unlock the feature by completing Chapter 5, Stage 5 of the main story in Breezy mode. With this feature, players can choose their main interface music. One can collect cassettes through the main story chapters, the UTTU shop, and the event shop to obtain new music.
Reflections: Reflections is a new feature, available after the Reverse 1999 version 1.9 update. Players can access the events of previous versions and character stories. Those who haven’t participated in those events can receive the first Clearance rewards.
Roar Jukebox: A new Roar Jukebox, Back to the Beyond, will be available from September 19 to October 28, 2024. Players will receive an extra 1x Crystal Casket by purchasing the Collector’s Edition. They will receive an extra 1x Crystal Casket and 5x Sonorous Knell by purchasing the Deluxe edition.
Wilderness Theme Pack: A new Wilderness Theme Pack, Silver Fantasy, will be available from September 19 to October 31, 2024, at the Wilderness shop. Additionally, the Where Fog Remains theme pack will be available permanently in the shop.

Players can also get several free rewards in the Reverse 1999 version 1.9 update. They include free characters, Unilogs, and more.
