Stats: Top 10 passers in the Premier League - Cesc Fabregas leads the list

Cesc Fabregas is accompanied by some famous as well as some slightly surprising names in the list for the top 10 passers

Cesc Fabregas has the most passes completed per 90 minutes in the Premier League

Chlesea’s Cesc Fabregas revealed on Sunday after Chelsea’s win against Arsenal, that he is playing a lot better than how he had played previously in the campaign and some stats have emerged this week which throw a particularly good light on the Blue’s playmaker.

Fabregas was instrumental in Chelsea’s win against his former club and bagged the man of the match award after the Premier League win at his old stomping ground. The Spaniard who has faced some criticism in the recent weeks looks to be rediscovering his best form and has turned out some assured performances since Hiddink has taken over.

It comes as no surprise to anyone that Mesut Ozil and Yaya Toure also feature on the list. Ozil who has been in stunning form this season heads the assists leaderboard not only in the Premier League but across the top 5 leagues in Europe. Yaya Toure has ensured things have ticked over in the City midfield taking the fifth place on this list completing 61 passes per 90 minutes.

Gareth Barry continues to impress for Everton without being in the spotlight. Often going under the radar in a team with players like Lukaku and Deulofeu, Barry has been an integral part of the attractive football played by The Toffees. One player who no one would have expected to make the list is Andrew Surman from Bournemouth. The South African born English midfielder has been a vital cog in the Bournemouth machine and they will be relying on him to continue his calm and composed passing as they look to avoid relegation.

There are two defenders making the list as well with Ashley Williams from Swansea and Jan Vertonghen from Tottenham boasting some impressive passing numbers. Yaya Toure’s midfield partner Fernandinho also features on the list completing over a thousand passes.

Leicester City, Liverpool and Manchester United are some of the big teams who have no players representing them on the list, although Liecester who currently top the Premier League will not care one bit.
