Liverpool are currently enjoying one of the best spells in their history and have not been this dominant in the English top-flight since their glory days of the 1970's and 80's.

All reigning champions from Europe's top five leagues have made it into this list, reiterating the fact that scoring goals do indeed help a club in winning titles. With players like Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, and Firmino in their ranks, they are one of the most attacking sides in Europe at the moment.

Though they fell short of being the top-scoring side in the league last campaign, they are currently the leading goal-scorers in the Premier League. They amassed 99 goals across all competitions in 2020.

#6 Barcelona - 99 goals in 2020

2020 was not a great year for La Liga giants Barcelona, as they failed to lift any trophy last year and also had to let go of some of their star players in the summer as COVID-19 lockdown dealt a huge financial blow to the club.

Despite that, they ended up being the top-scoring side in the league for the 2019-20 campaign, outscoring their fierce rivals Real Madrid by 16 goals. This season, too, they are the leading scorers in the league with 41 goals as of now.

Their 8-2 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League was the low point of their year but they should be happy with the fact that they fell just one goal short of reaching a century of goals in 2020.

#5 Atalanta - 103 goals in 2020

Atalanta have been one of the most entertaining sides to watch in Serie A over the last two seasons. They have impressed one and all with their attractive style of attacking play and have been very prolific in front of the goal in recent campaigns.

The club fell just two goals shy of reaching a three-digit tally in goals in the Serie A last season, as they soared to third place in league standings with their impressive goal difference of 50.

Their tally of 103 goals makes them the second-highest scoring Italian side for the calendar year, which should not come as a surprise to anyone who closely follows Italian football.

#4 Inter Milan - 108 goals in 2020

Inter Milan have been playing very well under Antonio Conte. The Italian manager has developed an attacking mentality among his players and has used the 3-5-2 formation very effectively to find a delicate balance between going forward and keeping a tight ship at the back.

The club has not won a title since 2010 but came close to lifting the Europa League trophy in August, only to be defeated by Sevilla in the final. Their attack is led by two in-form strikers in Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez at the moment, who can help I Nerazzurri challenge for trophies this campaign.

They scored 108 goals in 2020 and were the highest-scoring Italian side for the calendar year.
