Erling Braut Haaland announced himself on the European stage in some style when the 19-year-old's three-goal haul against Genk on his UEFA Champions League debut for Salzburg made him the youngest player after Real Madrid legend Raul Gonzalez (18 years 113 days) against Ferencvaros in 1994-95, and Wayne Rooney (18 years 340 days) for Manchester United against Fenerbahce in 2004-05 to score a hat-trick in the competition.

In the process, Braut Haaland became the first player since Yacine Brahimi (for Porto in 2014-15), and the eighth player overall to score a hat-trick on his Champions League debut. The stock of the young Norwegian began to rise when he scored a goal in his first European game in the country of his birth, as Salzburg fell to a 3-4 defeat to Liverpool in Anfield.

Braut Haaland's brace in Salzburg's 2-3 home defeat to Napoli on Matchday 3 made him the first player in the Champions League to score six goals in his first three games in the competition.

Braut Haaland's goal in Salzburg's 1-1 draw at Napoli made him one of only four players to score in each of his first four Champions League games, the others being Ze Carlos (FC Porto), Alessandro Del Piero (Juventus) and Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid).

The teenager's exploits in his first season in the Champions League haven't gone unnoticed, as the big clubs across the continent are preparing to jostle for Braut Haaland's signature. Let us look at three sides, in no particular order, which would be enriched by the arrival of the teen prodigy amidst their ranks.

#3 RB Leipzig

An youthful RB Leipzig side who are sitting in second place in the Bundesliga, above defending champions Bayern Munich, is a very lucrative potential destination for Braut Haaland.

Under the tutelage of the Bundesliga's youngest manager, Julian Nagelsmann, Leipzig have played an attractive brand of attacking football this season, scoring 29 league goals in the process.

Unlike at other established clubs, Haaland could get immediate game-time at Leipzig, and is almost guaranteed to play in the Champions League where he has made an instant impact in his debut season.

#2 Manchester United (England)

Manchester United are in the fray for the coveted signature of the newest European sensation owing primarily to their manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as he had signed his fellow countryman Haaland for Molde from his first club, Bryne.

The impact could be immediate as United have struggled for goals, with a paltry tally of 16 from 12 games, which is only above Sheffield United (13) and Bournemouth (15) in the top 10 of the Premier League table this season. The Red Devils could really do with a striker who can deliver the goals upfront on a regular basis.

Haaland, who is the top-scorer in the 2019-20 Champions League, with seven goals in four games, has scored 26 goals in 14 games this season.

With Champions League football next season looking like a pipedream for the struggling Red devils, it remains to be seen if the young Norwegian would join Manchester United, despite the Ole Gunnar Solkjaer connection.

#1 Juventus (Italy)

The serial Serie A winners are another club which could immensely benefit from the arrival of Haaland. Despite their domestic dominance in Serie A, where they lead the table after 12 matchdays and having qualified for the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League, Juventus have generally struggled to score goals this season.

Braut Haaland could be the player to complement Cristiano Ronaldo and provide the much needed youthful vigour and energy to an ageing Juventus frontline as the Bianconeri aim to end their long trophy drought on the continental stage.

The teenager is equally adept as part of a front two or as a lone forward but in either role his aggressive playing style would add a cutting edge to the Juventus attack.
