Liverpool finally reached the promised land in the 2019-20 season, as they ended their long wait for a league title. The Reds were crowned champions of England for the first time in over 30 years, as they blew teams out of the water and got their hands on the prize in some style.

Jurgen Klopp's relentless Reds lost just three times and finished with a staggering 99 points, with second-placed Manchester City finishing 18 points behind them. The likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane were once again in top form in front of goal, while Roberto Firmino's ability to pop up in clutch moments also proved to be invaluable.

The Merseyside club, however, failed to defend their European crown. Atletico Madrid beat them home and away in the Champions League Round of 16, as they were elininated from the competition before the enforced break. Liverpool finished the season with 117 goals and in 57 games and won three major trophies in the 2019-20 campaign.

Nevertheless, the Parisian outfit scored a staggering 135 times across 49 games in all competitions, with the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Angel di Maria and Neymar in stunning form.

Thomas Tuchel's side finally looked like they would get their hands on the Champions League, having made it through to the final in Lisbon. However, Bayern Munich were the superior team on the night and recorded a deserved 1-0 victory, as PSG came within touching distance of European glory.

The 2019-20 season was a successful one for the Parisian side despite how it ended and it remains to be seen if they build on it in the coming years.

Unsurprisigly, Pep Guardiola's star-studded Manchester City side make the list. The Cityzens enjoyed an underwhelming league campaign, as they surrendered their domestic crown to Liverpool without mouting much of a challenge.

Liverpool won the Premier League title by 18 points had that sense of inevitability about them, while City were uncharacteristically sloppy for majority of the season. Additionally, the Cityzens fell flat in Europe, much like the seasons that have gone by.

Lyon recorded a famous victory against Guardiola's side in the quarterfinals, as they ended the season with just the Carabao Cup to their name. Manchester City, however, scored 149 goals across all competitions and played some of the best football in the Premier League in the 2019-20 season.

The Bavarian giants also added the DfB Pokal to their ranks since the lockdown, as they took European football by storm with their brand of football.
