Season 2 seems to be very special to Epic Games. Back in Chapter 1, the Fortnite Battle Royale developer released a complete map overhaul, while NPCs and their Mythic items were added in Chapter 2. In the third chapter, Epic added the Zero Build mode, which is one of the best additions of all time.

It appears that Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 will be no exception and will receive a couple of updates that will change the game for the better. However, players will need some time to get used to the new mechanics.

Here are the five major features that will soon be released:

1) New storm mechanics

The storm is one of the most important mechanics in Fortnite Battle Royale. Its purpose is to make players move to a smaller zone and force them to fight against each other until the game is over.

This mechanic hasn't received many updates over the past few years, although Epic Games has experimented with its timing and the damage it does. However, the upcoming update in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 will completely change the storm.

According to the leakers, the storm will split the safe zone into two circles. This will reportedly only happen in the final stages and will the make gameplay much more interesting. This will be one of the biggest changes, which is why players will need a lot of time to get used to it.

2) Smart pistol will have an aimbot

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 has completely changed the loot pool. Many weapons have been either vaulted or unvaulted, yet Epic Games has also added several weapons that have never been seen before, such as the Kinetic Blade.

All of these changes to the loot pool make the game feel fresh and fun. However, Epic isn't done yet and will release another weapon very soon. It is called the Smart Pistol and was showcased in the trailer for the new season.

The new pistol will be able to lock onto enemies automatically. It will take only 0.4 seconds to do so, but there is also a 0.5-second delay between the shots.

This weapon sounds very powerful, but Epic Games will likely nerf it to make it balanced. The upcoming pistol is similar to a popular weapon from Titanfall 2, which may also indicate that Epic is working on another collaboration.

The release date of the Smart Pistol is currently unknown. However, it could come as early as Tuesday, March 21.

3) First-person mode is finally coming to the game

Epic Games has been working on developing Fortnite's first-person mode for the past couple of months. It was accidentally released last season and players coould enable it through secret settings. However, the developer disabled it shortly after.

Many players and leakers believed that the new perspective would come with the release of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. While it is yet to happen, it appears that the video game developer will release the feature in the current season.

There have been rumors that the first-person mode could come with the release of Creative 2.0 on March 22. However, considering that this will be a PC-only update, it is very unlikely.

4) Eren Yeager and his ODM gear

Eren Yeager is the secret skin in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 Battle Pass. The Attack on Titan character is not currently available, but he will be unlockable later in the season. In addition to his skin, however, Epic Games will release his ODM gear.

The Fortnite ODM gear will allow players to use a grappling hook to move quickly around the island. However, unlike any other grappler in the game, the upcoming one will allow players to use their weapons while moving from one spot to another.

While the new grappler will be available to everyone, it's important to note that the anime character will only be unlockable through the Battle Pass. The release date is currently unknown, but Epic will likely release this feature and the character in late April or early May.

5) New game-changing movement mechanics

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 has brought many features to the popular video game, but it appears that Epic Games has decided to postpone the release of several movement mechanics.

These have been in development for a long time, which is why almost everyone expected them to be launched with the new season. However, they will be released later on with one of the major updates.

There are currently two major movement mechanics that have been revealed by Fortnite leakers. The first one is wall running, which will allow players to run at a different angle. This mechanic will force them to make major adjustments in combat.

The second mechanic is hill scrambling. As its name indicates, it will make ascending steep terrain much easier for players. Considering that Epic added mantling back in Chapter 3, adding hill scrambling makes a lot of sense as it will make players move much faster.
