5 most underrated Reality Augments to use in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2

Reality Augments were introduced to Fortnite in Chapter 4 Season 1 and quickly became a game-changer. This new mechanic/feature allows players to select up to four perks for the duration of a match. While all of them are useful in some way, some stand out for their exceptional utility rendered.

On that note, a few of them tend to fly under the radar and become somewhat ignored and/or underrated. This is due to the fact that players don't understand the benefits of selecting these Reality Augments or how to utilize them during a match.

Munitions Slide and four other Reality Augments that are underrated in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2

1) Munitions Slide

At the start of Fortnite Chapter 3, a new mechanic called Sliding was introduced to the game. This allows players to go downhill faster than ever before. While it was already a useful mechanic, the developers decided to buff it in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2.

Once the Munitions Slide Reality Augment is activated, players will receive two medium bullets every few seconds while Sliding. In theory, it is possible to stack up over 500 medium bullets just by Sliding around the map instead of Sprinting. Of course, while this is not a sustainable means to farm medium bullets, it is a good alternative.

2) Aquatic Warrior

Streams adorn the island in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. Using a motorboat, a player can easily traverse the entirety of the island using these streams. However, when it comes to combat, a player will be at a distinct disadvantage once they're in the water. This is where the Aquatic Warrior Reality Augment comes into the picture.

When selected, players can move swiftly in the water, even when going upstream. This can make for interesting rotational tactics during the game. Additionally, health and partial shields will also be regenerated while swimming. This is great as players can heal naturally without having to use healing items.

3) Medium Ammo Amp

Generally speaking, ARs have magazines that can hold a decent number of bullets. However, in almost all combat scenarios, the magazines tend to empty out before the opponent can be eliminated. Players will then have to switch to a secondary weapon to seal the deal. In some cases, the opponent manages to escape.

The Reality Augment, known as Medium Ammo Amp, can solve this issue to a large extent. When activated, all weapons (ARs and DMRs) that use medium types of ammo will have their magazine size increased by 20%. While this may not seem like a lot, it can come in clutch when facing off against multiple opponents in combat situations.

4) Sniper Surplus

The Heavy Sniper Rifle is a game-changer in the truest of senses in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. One bullet is enough to knock down an opponent or eliminate them, depending on the game mode. However, the long reload time and the fact that the weapon has to be reloaded after every shot make it frustrating to use. Thankfully, there is a way to bypass one of these problems.

Using the Sniper Surplus Reality Augment, players can fire up to two rounds before having to reload the Heavy Sniper Rifle. In long-range combat situations, having the ability to fire twice before having to reload is a huge tactical advantage. The enemy will be forced to dive for cover or risk being shot at and potentially eliminated.

5) Keymaster

The Keymaster Reality Augment in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is not something that players tend to select in-game. The idea of obtaining two Keys seems near useless in most situations. Given that they can be obtained for free, using a Reality Augment slot to obtain two makes no sense. However, it's more useful than most players tend to realize.

By selecting Keymaster early in the match, players can interact with Holo-Chests that contain Heisted weapons. These are powerful Exotic weapons that players can use to gain a massive combat advantage.

Aside from Exotic weapons, high-tier weapons can also be obtained from Holo Chests. This is far easier than having to search through multiple Chests in the hopes of finding specific high-tier weapons.
