Since March 26, 2023, the official French Fortnite account has been posting cryptic images of fish on Twitter. The first image was of a flopper, while the second was of a blurred out small fry. The third and final image was of a shield fish. Since all of them were posted without context, it was rather bizarre. While many tried to theorize exactly what the developers were trying to convey, it made no sense for the most part. With the "Fishing Collection Book" removed, the idea of having a new kind of in-game fish was also out of the question. So what could these images mean?Happy "Poisson D'avril" from FortniteFortnite 🇫🇷 officiel@FortniteFR65377https://t.co/Dp7m7xrT1VAccording to one user from France, the cryptic images are related to "Poisson d'Avril" (April's fish). On April 1, they prank friends and family by sticking paper fish on each other's backs. According to the user, in some regions in France, this is also a competition. As weird as they may seem, it's true, and it's a tradition that dates back to the year 1564. In fact, the image of the shield fish that was shared by the developers includes a picture of a flopper drawn on paper and stuck to the fish.I Play COD@IPlayCODFor April 1st, A new #Warzone2 Playlist is now live! The ‘Totally The Same BR’ mode features zero gravity movement as well as no fall damage. In this day and age, even game developers take the opportunity to prank players in-game. A good example of this is Call of Duty."Totally The Same BR" was added to the Warzone 2 playlist a short while ago to celebrate April Fool's Day. This mode features zero gravity, fall damage has been turned off, and stairs have seemingly been removed. Although it is rather silly, it suits the occasion.Shiina@ShiinaBRAs you may know, Fortnite France tweeted a mysterious fish picture last weekend 🤔They've been posting more of them the last few days, and we only need 3 more pictures to get a big one! It MAY be irrelevant to people outside the French community, but it's worth mentioning!3496181As you may know, Fortnite France tweeted a mysterious fish picture last weekend 🤔They've been posting more of them the last few days, and we only need 3 more pictures to get a big one! 👀It MAY be irrelevant to people outside the French community, but it's worth mentioning! https://t.co/DYLaJ0qijkComing back to the cryptic fish teasers, various images have been compiled by leaker/data miner ShiinaBR and posted on Twitter, but they remain incomplete. The middle portion of the picture is yet to be uploaded.Perhaps this will be done later in the day, and players will finally be able to see the image as a whole. That said, those hoping for some sort of surprise in Fortnite should not have their hopes too high. Will this fish teaser result in anything in-game?DDM RAT@Asbi70696384@ShiinaBR @LHibou8 Don't expect anything at all3@ShiinaBR @LHibou8 Don't expect anything at allIf Epic Games was planning something related to "Poisson D'avril” or April Fools' Day in-game, leakers/data miners would have uncovered something by now. However, since the Fortnite update v24.10 went live, nothing of the sort has been found in the game files. As far as we can tell, the cryptic fish teasers are limited to social media only. While elements and assets from the game are being used, it has nothing to do with the game itself. Nevertheless, it's still a great concept that has not only gained the attention of those who follow the FortniteFR account but even those who follow the main account on Twitter.
