Fortnite concepts have been a staple for a while now. With Epic Games trying to make the community a larger part of the metaverse, several concept artists' works have been officially added to the game. Although this is mostly done for Fortnitemares and Winterfest, some also make it into the Battle Pass.

The latest concept skin to take the community by storm pays tribute to one of the gentlest creatures to grace the game: Klombo. While they are no longer in the game, their legacy lives on through such artwork and concepts.

An artist named MisterFii took to Reddit to share their concept skin. While dozens of these are posted daily, this one stands out. The artist in question created a re-imagined version of a Klombo.

Rather than towering over players, this version, called Klarus, is the same size as The Hulk in-game. Based on community feedback, many suggest this is a more evolved and intelligent version of Klombo. The artist also provides a backstory that goes:

"Klarus is a descendent of the Klombos from a reality where they were able to grow, thrive, and evolve; forming a society that's learned to become attuned to the environment around them."

While Klarus has different color variants, much like their ancestors who once roamed the island and vacuumed everything in their path. Unlike them, however, this concept is bipedal but has four hands, which would be useful for snacking on fruit while still being able to engage in combat.

The concept artist has only created a Harvesting Tool as a cosmetic accessory for Klarus. It is called a Blue Stone Strider and will have an animated effect if ever added to the game. While a personalized Glider and Back Bling would be a great add-on, having the Outfit itself would be a major win. Here's what the community thinks about the creation:

Since Epic Games is always looking for amazing concept skins to add to Fortnite, hopefully, someone from the company will see this and give it the green signal. However, even if the developers decide to pick up the concept, it could be months before it gets added to the game.

Why is Fortnite community obsessed with Klombos?

Towards the latter part of Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1, giant majestic creatures known as Klombos began waking up from their hibernation. They roamed the island freely with impunity and no force. Imagined Order or players could bring them to their knees, or so it was thought.

Players indulge themselves by taking pictures and videos of these gentle giants. Many would even feed them Klomberries as a way to show their affection.

Fast forward to the war in Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2, when the island was bombarded, and these gentle giants were nowhere to be seen. Many speculated that they had gone underground to escape, but the truth was soon realized.

At the start of Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3, Klombo skulls can be seen on the island. It turns out that they could not outrun their fate and perished during the war. Although the community has been extremely vocal about bringing Klombos back into the fold, with Epic Games having a fixed roadmap to adhere to, this is unlikely.

While their species may have been wiped out, seeing Klarus is a reminder that they survived and thrived somewhere in the metaverse, perhaps in a different reality. When and if the time is right, they may make a comeback, but their memory will have to suffice for now.
