There's a new Shockwave Hammer glitch in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1, and it's taking the community by storm. When it is executed correctly, players can farm an infinite amount of health. In theory, they can use this HP to outlast opponents.

In certain situations, this glitch can be used to stay alive when stuck deep in The Storm. While this all sounds good and dandy, the glitch itself is rather odd, with a distinct twitch tossed into the mix.

Shockwave Hammer in Fortnite can be used to farm fish

Despite fishing taking a back seat in the current season, it's still a great way to generate XP and acquire items. This includes utility items, weapons, and ammo. With Harpoon Guns being removed from the loot pool, players are forced to use Fishing Rods to fish.

This is where this neat little Shockwave Hammer glitch comes to the rescue. Rather than spending copious amounts of time trying to catch fish one by one, the weapon can be used to literally 'shock' fish and/or other items out of the water. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do it:

  1. Get the Jelly Angler Augment.
  2. Aim the Fishing Rod and throw the lure into the water.
  3. As soon as the lure hits the water, switch back to the Shockwave Hammer.
  4. Next, switch back to the Fishing Rod, throw the lure into the water again, and repeat the current and aforementioned step a few more times.
  5. After doing this a few times, switch back to the Shockwave Hammer and attack the spot.

Once the Shockwave Hammer makes contact with the ground, the fish will spawn and float on the surface.

Fish and/or items/weapons will be spawned in proportion to the number of times the lure was thrown. The average rate is three items/weapons/fish for every lure thrown.

Given the amount of loot players can spawn using this glitch, they can comfortably Storm-Camp for some time if needed. However, one should remember not to overdo it, as Storm Stickiness can set in. It's best to use this glitch only if healing items are hard to find.

Aside from farming healing items, players can potentially use this Shockwave Hammer glitch in Fortnite to try and find the elusive Mythic Goldfish. It has a one-in-a-million drop rate, which is why it's ultra-rare. However, using this method, players may be able to luck out and obtain it.

Can you get banned for using this Fortnite Shockwave Hammer glitch in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1?

No, this glitch cannot get players banned. Since it can be triggered without the need for any Discord bots or external source files, it is 100% legal to use. While it can give players a competitive edge in the truest sense, it's not their fault for using it.

Since this Shockwave Hammer glitch is new, it may take a while for it to get patched. However, judging by how Epic Games removed Deku's Smash Mythic when a problem was discovered, players have to be prepared for the possibility that this will also get vaulted.

With all that said, this Fortnite Shockwave Hammer glitch is very niche in nature. Given that most players avoid or tend not to bother themselves with fishing (especially since Epic Games removed the Fishing Collection tab this season), the majority of the playerbase may not even use this glitch. Nevertheless, it can be a potential life-saver in certain situations.
