Fortnite has been an incredibly popular game for over five years now. Its Battle Royale mode debuted in the summer of 2017 and has been active ever since.

Epic Games' battle royale title has ebbed and flowed in terms of sheer player count over the years, but it has always been a top game for many.

Some players stopped playing the game at various points. During the late seasons of Chapter 1 and the earlier seasons of Chapter 2, many players didn't play at all.

Others, on the other hand, have remained loyal to the title. As a result, they've logged quite a few hours in the game.

It's easy to unknowingly spend a lot of time playing a video game, but when that's extrapolated over five years, the totals can be surprising.

Twitch streamer primesalad has the most Fortnite hours right now

According to FortniteTracker, there is currently one player who stands above the rest when it comes to hours spent playing the game. It's not Ninja or SypherPK, though.

The player with the most Fortnite hours at the time of writing is primesalad, who has spent over 788,000 minutes (specifically 788,488) in the game as of writing.

That translates to 13.133 thousand hours, which is almost 550 days. This means that primesalad has spent over a year and a half simply playing Fortnite.

The popular Twitch streamer is closely followed by Ship, who has over 772,000 minutes in the game. This infringes on 13,000 hours. That's roughly 541 days spent playing a single game.

Most players haven't spent so many hours playing a video game, so this shows an impressive level of dedication.

The third-placed player is BothSalem420, who is not quite in the same stratosphere as the other two. He has played over 617 thousand minutes. That's 10,300 hours or about 429 days.

The rest of the leaderboard looks like this (with minutes played):

  • psn(DirtyToTheBone) - 617,788 minutes
  • 嘔吐星の大玉Ψげろりんちょ - 604,942 minutes
  • Prospering - 545,392 minutes
  • SparklePouPop - 523,364 minutes
  • Idk_Pi - 523,128 minutes
  • KingJTerra - 522,709 minutes
  • limalimao845 - 509,282 minutes

A number of players who would have been expected to be among the leaders, such as Ninja, Ali-A, and Tfue, are not even in the top 100 in terms of playtime in Fortnite. In fact, they don't even make the top 300.

However, this isn't a surprise. Given how big their streaming audiences are, they are not tied to one game.

For a while, Ninja and others were synonymous with Fortnite. However, as time went on, they built up a big enough audience to try other titles.

Ninja plays Valorant and other games a lot, which takes up a lot of his time. The same is true for a lot of other streamers.

Unless streamers focus solely on Epic Games' battle royale sensation, they won't find themselves at the top of this list. They're probably not too concerned about it, though.
