The search term "Who is Kit's mom in Fortnite?" has been trending in the community for some time now. According to theorists and lore-keepers, the answer to this is probably a character known as Lynx. Who is Kit, and most importantly, who is Kit's mom in Fortnite?

Much like most characters in-game that have an enigmatic backstory, Kit appeared out of nowhere on the island in Chapter 2 Season 3. He was an NPC boss, but unlike others who sided with either GHOST or SHADOW, Kit did his own thing. He was also featured in the seasonal Battle Pass as an exclusive skin.

Keeping cosmetics aside, what makes Kit stand out from others is that he's a cat. He gets around in a mech suit and looks rather adorable. His supposed mother, Lynx, is said to have built it for him. This piece of lore is based on The Lab Loading Screen, where both can be seen building Kit's mech-suit.

Getting further into the lore, it's believed that Meowscles is his father. Given that they're both cats, that's believable. However, with Lynx being more human than feline, here's where things don't add up. While she may have a cat-like style for players to choose from, that does not allow her to qualify as Kit's mom in Fortnite.

That said, as they say in the popular Grand Strategy game Stellaris:

"Xeno-Compatibility not found."

This statement can further be backed up by the appearance of the latest member of the meowscle-clan called Meow Skulls. She's Meowscles' younger sister (who is also a cat), which would make her Kit's aunt. With all that said, here's where things get interesting and a bit disheartening.

Kit is adopted?

Since both Meowscles and Meow Skulls are humanoid cats, whereas Kit is a normal cat, it's likely that he's adopted. Genetics alone makes this amply clear. While Lynx may have been a mother figure towards him, she's most definitely not Kit's mom in Fortnite.

By all accounts, she helped Meowscles raise Kit and create a functional mech for him to use. Since Meowscles is not the brightest kitty in the litter, given that he focuses on his physique, Lynx is the only one capable of building complex machines. This would explain the "mother-son" relationship and the unique dialogues.

Sadly, unfortunately, and regrettably, as far as the lore goes, there's no telling who may have been Kit's mom in Fortnite. Perhaps he was a stray cat that Meowscles adopted as a kitten, or maybe he was an experiment created by the Imagined Order. Considering that he's quite capable of dabbling with technology, this makes a lot of sense.

That said, it's unclear if the lore will ever reveal who Kit's real mom is. To be honest, does it really matter? He's part of something bigger than himself and has carved out his own niche in the metaverse. As far as he's concerned, every looper considers him family in Fortnite, and to an extent, that's all that matters.
