La Liga Table Toppers 2020-21 : Atletico Madrid

Spanish club Atletico Madrid were the toppers of the La Liga table during the 2020-21 season defeating all time favorites Real Madrid and Barcelona to clinch the title. The 2020-21 season will always be remembered as a season where fans were not allowed to enter the stadiums due to the pandemic situations. As a result, matches were played in empty stadiums and it was weird for football fans to watch it in front of the screens with no atmosphere to feel.

Atletico Madrid won their 11th La Liga title and they thoroughly deserved to be on top of the La Liga table. Former Barcelona star Luis Suarez joined Atletico during the start of the 2020-21 season and the Uruguayan striker turned out to be the difference maker as he scored 11 goals and 2 assists for his side. This was Diego Simeone's 2nd La Liga title and the Atletico Madrid manager was so happy that his side won the title on the last day of the season.
