Recent Encounters : Ind vs Aus

The last series which India played against New Zealand was around the same time of the year in 2019. India toured New Zealand in January-February 2019 for a five-match ODI series followed by a three-match T20I series.

India cricket team comfortably won the ODI series 4-1 but had to face loss a 2-1 loss in the T20 series to New Zealand.

The last New Zealand vs India encounter was at the 2019 ICC ODI World Cup semi-finals. And that was one of the most crucial matches ever played between the two countries.

Although India comfortably won the group stage match against New Zealand, it was the Kiwis who had the last laugh. New Zealand defeated India at the World Cup semi-finals by 18 runs to reach the finals.

Pre and Post Series Scenarios

Before coming to New Zealand, India would be playing Australia for a three-ODI home series. While New Zealand cricket team would be coming into the T20 series against India from a nice three-week gap after their Test series against Australia.

This is going to be a very long stay for India in New Zealand. However, it might come extremely handy for the Indian players. It will be a healthy practice for the Indian team as the T20 World Cup will be played in Australia under very similar conditions.

After their long tour in New Zealand, the Indian cricketers will head back home for their series against South Africa. The Kiwis on the other hand will travel west to Australia for another ODI series against their neighbours.
