They added an extra 27 miles to the race in 2009 to honor their car, the Shelby Cobra 427. The Pennzoil 400 will be the first Cup Series race in March 2024. The event will be held over the weekend from Saturday, 2 March 2024 to Sunday, 3 March 2024. The Pennzoil 400 will have one practice session which will be held on Saturday at 11:05 AM track time.
The Qualifying session for the race will be held on the same day, immediately after Practice. The Qualifying session will last from 11:50 AM to 1 PM, track time. The Pennzoil 400 2024 will start on Sunday from 12:30 PM track time. It is a 3-stage race with the first stage lasting 80 laps each and the last stage lasting 107 laps.
The Pennzoil 400 2024 will take place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada. The track is a 1.5-mile-long Superspeedway with paved asphalt. It has a steep banking of 20 degrees to facilitate high-speed oval racing and straightways of 9 degrees. The lap record for the NASCAR Cup Series is held by Kevin Harvick. He clocked a lap of 0:28.808 in his Ford Fusion during the 2018 Pennzoil 400.
