Pro Kabaddi 2016, Season 4 - Live Match Telecast: Bengal Warriors vs Bengaluru Bulls, PKL Season 4 Match 42 online at Starsports.com

Jang-Kun Lee will be THE player to watch out for in today’s encounter

Bengal Warriors will take on Bengaluru Bulls, in Match 42 of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi Season 4, at home. The Warriors are at the bottom of the group table, with only 2 wins and 2 draws from their opening 11 matches. However, they are still hanging in there with a mathematical chance of qualifying for the semis, but that is highly unlikely.

The home side for this contest have been inconsistent and failed to close games when they had the lead, which has cost them dearly. With a spot in the semis almost out of the question, the Warriors will look to play party-spoilers.

Bengaluru Bulls meanwhile are 6th in the table, with 3 wins and a draw in 11 matches. The Bulls are going into the game at the back of 6 consecutive defeats, and their chances of qualifying to semis look bleaker by the day. This is a do-or-die match for both the teams, to keep their chances alive, considering the other results go in their favour, too.

The live streaming for the game between the Bengal Warriors vs Patna Pirates will be available on starsports.com from 20:00 IST. The match will be telecasted live from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose indoor stadium and will be aired on Star Sports 2 (HD) in English and Star Sports 3 (HD) in Hindi.

A season to forget for the Warriors

The Bengal Warriors played out a thrilling 34-34 draw against the in-form Telugu Titans. Crowd favourite, Jang-Kun Lee, went from hero to villain in just a few minutes as he gave Bengal a vital lead late into the game, but gave it all away as he unsuccessfully chased Rahul Chaudhuri in the last raid of the game to level the score. Bengal has looked far more confident at home, and will look to turn it into a win today against the out of form, Bulls.

The Nilesh Shinde-led side was disappointing in the first half of the season and started off their campaign with a nail-biting loss to the Bengaluru Bulls, 23-24. They registered their first victory of Season 4 with a win over Dabang Delhi, 31-23 the following game, but it has gone all downstairs since then.

The Warriors then put up a good performance but fell just short as they went down to Season 1 champions, Jaipur Pink Panthers, 33-36. In their fourth match, they were outclassed by a strong U Mumba side, as the Warriors lost 18-26. Warriors’ worst performance came in their 5th match as they were thrashed by Telugu Titans by a margin of 17 points. The match ended 18-35. The Bengal franchise couldn’t recover from the thrashing, as they were humiliated by defending champs, Patna Pirates 35-21.

The Warriors played out an intense and nail-biting 34-34 draw against the Puneri Paltans. In their last match, Bengal Warriors put up an inspirational performance, at home, as they defeated Jaipur Pink Panthers, 32-25. Patna Pirates proved too much for the Warriors, as Pirates won 33-27.

Not a good season for the revamped Bulls either

The Bengaluru Bulls were completely outplayed by Dabang Delhi in all departments in their first game of the season, as they were thrashed 40-20. Bulls looked out of place, as Delhi dominated proceedings from the very beginning. Bulls tried to take the pressure off Rohit Kumar, as Yogesh Hooda and Pawan Sehrawat handled most of the raiding responsibilities in the first half. Bulls will need to pull up their socks for today’s match.

Bengaluru Bulls started off their campaign with a dramatic win over today’s opponents, Bengal Warriors, 24-23 and followed it up with a nail-biting 28-28 draw, against Season 1 champions, Jaipur Pink Panthers. They lost their third match against Dabang Delhi, 32-24. The Bulls followed up the defeat with two consecutive victories in close matches over the Puneri Paltans, 29-27, and Telugu Titans, 30-28.

After losing only one match in the first 5 matches of the season, Bulls went on a spree of 6 consecutive defeats, since then. The series of defeats started against Patna Pirates, 31-25, and lost out in a thriller against U Mumba, 23-24. The Bulls have played three matches at home thus far and are yet to register a victory.

They lost their home matches to Telugu Titans, 24-32, and former champions, Jaipur Pink Panters, 22-24. In their most recent match yesterday, Bengaluru disappointed their home fans once again, as an out-of-sorts Bulls’ side went down against defending champions, Patna Pirates, 23-38.

Jang-Kun Lee will be important in today’s match, and skipper, Nilesh Shinde has to lead from the front. Rohit Kumar is expected to lead the attack today, and will need to play well against a good Bengal defense. Mohit Chillar will spearhead Bulls defense, and will be exciting to see him up against the Korean and Monu Goyat.

The match has the potential to be a thriller, and if Bulls don’t get their act together, Warriors can run away with the match.
