Nasser Hussain : There is little bit of cloud cover. There is a breeze coming from extra cover to short fine leg. Talking about the dimensions - It's 64m on one side and 54m is hitting into the breeze.

Aaron Finch : There is not huge amount of grass as it looks pretty even. There was more bounce in Barbados and we can expect the same. In fact, the England batters struggled against Cummins and Hazlewood in Barbados and this surface could offer more bounce, so they have to make adjustments.

Commentary

The defending champions did exactly what was asked of them. They steamrolled the opposition and have, hence, put themselves ahead of Scotland in terms of the net run rate. This makes remaining two games in Group B very crucial in deciding the second team, alongside Australia, that will go through the Super 8s. On the other hand, Oman finish their campaign without a win. But as their skipper said at the post match presentation, the exposure that the players have got will help them grow. We hope that you enjoyed the coverage. Our team would be up and about in around 3 hours' time when the next match - Afghanistan vs Papua New Guinea - begins. Jos Buttler [England Captain]: Couldn't ask for more. The tone was set by the bowlers. Job done for the day. Now we have a big game coming up in a couple of days time. Yes, there was extra biunce on this wicket and we bowled well. Nobody expected the pitch to play the way it did. (On what was the message to the batters) Just to be ultra positive and get the net run rate boost. (On the critics writing England off) Not surprised. I have been around for long. We can focus on what we have to do. We have a big game in a couple of days time.

Aqib Ilyas [Oman Captain]: Nothing much to say. We couldn't do well with the batting. The top order failed to score runs throughout the tournament. With 40 runs on the board, bowlers can't do much. We don't play 140+ bowlers everyday. There aren't too many bowlers who can bowl at that pace in the associate teams. Once in a while, you come up against a side like that; it is tough. The balls were in good areas and their fielders were on their toes. The batters were under pressure because they didn't have runs on the board. Bad shot selection hurt us. If we had finished the last match on a high we would have been happier. But overall, it has been good interacting with the top players. We have done well in the associate world. Hopefully, this exposure will make us better.

With that win, England not only pick up two points but also surpass Scotland's net run rate. For Oman, their tournament comes to an end. They finish without a win against their name. Although, their spirited performance against Australia and Ilyas' catch have been etched in the history forever. They would hope to come back stronger in the next edition.

Adil Rashid [4/11, Player of the Match]- We bowled exceptionally well as a team. Jof and Woody set the tone. I am happy with the bowling performance. It's always hard to access the pitches, sometimes it looks flat, sometimes you don't know how much it's spinning. I tried to adjust in the first over itself, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It's hard to bowl outside leg because of the turn, so kept it in the channel and used a slider & googly. (On the qualification scenarios) We need to do our job and everything will fall in place

The word "steamrolled" was added to the cricket lexicon in order to describe performances like these. England have thumped Oman. They needed to win big in order to give their net run rate a boost and the defending champions have done exactly that.

The won the toss, decided to bowl first and the bowlers were up to the assignment. The pacers bent their backs and extracted the extra bounce off this wicket that made it uncomfortable for the Oman batters before Adil Rashid wrapped up the lower order.

Then, the England batters hit mode turbo. Their intentions were made clear with the two sixes that Salt hit off the first couple of balls he faced. While, Oman did send him and, soon, Jacks back to the hut, they just did not have enough on the board.

England win. They surpass Scotland's net run rate. And unfortunately for Oman, this is the end of the road.
