Manchester United in talks with Odion Ighalo

Reputed Sky News journalist Fabrizio Romano understands that Manchester United are in talks with the representatives of former Watford striker Odion Ighalo. He currently plays in China for Shanghai Greenland Shenhua.

Dries Mertens and Teemu Pukki among Manchester United's deadline day targets

Manchester United's quest for a striker is in full throttle, as they have been sounding off potential targets all over Europe. The latest names in the long list are Norwich City's Teemu Pukki and Napoli's Dries Mertens.

The Independent understands that United have made enquiries about both strikers, but Norwich swiftly shot down their advances, stating that Pukki is not for sale under any circumstances.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer skeptical, but doesn't rule out a move for Joshua King

In a press conference ahead of the weekend's fixtures, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was quizzed with regards the Joshua King speculations. The Old Trafford club has already tried unsuccessfully to sign the striker this window. Solskjaer had this to say:

"I don’t think we’ll do any more business, no. Anthony (Martial) and Mason (Greenwood) they can break their noses as well. No worries about that".

The Norwegian boss however added:
