Minecraft has a plethora of items and blocks you can collect and craft. If you play with mods, the list of items and blocks can also increase drastically. With all these resources, knowing the crafting recipe for each of them can be quite tricky. Furthermore, the knowledge book in vanilla version's crafting GUI does not show recipes for every item until you acquire a crafting ingredient.

To resolve these issues, a mod named Roughly Enough Items was created. Here is everything to know about it.

Roughly Enough Items is essentially an alternate mode for the more popular Just Enough Items (JEI). In simple terms, this mod shows every single item present in the game when you open the crafting GUI. The list will also include items and blocks added from mods. There will be a search bar to find the exact item or block you are looking for.

Once you select an item, it will show the crafting recipe for that item even though you don't have the ingredient items in your inventory. Additionally, the mod can tell what that specific item is used for. Along with the crafting recipe, you can also see what happens when that item is placed in other functional blocks, like brewing stand and furnace.

For example, if you select a string, the mod will first show how the string itself can be obtained or crafted, then show what it can be used to craft. Since strings do not have any use in a brewing stand, furnace, smithing table, loom, etc., those functional blocks will not show up in this case.

Roughly Enough Items also has extensive settings that allow you to configure how the mod works and looks.
