What is Minecraft The Garden Awakens update? All you need to know

Minecraft will soon see the release of the Garden Awakens Drop, formerly known as the Winter Drop. Numerous new features, such as the Pale Garden biome and the new Creaking mob, will be included in this update. Some of the new features were first revealed During Mojang Studios' yearly live event in September. The drop is currently being finalized by the developers and will soon be released.

The Pale Garden biome and the Creaking mob are the two main features of the upcoming drop. These two were the first to be made available in the game's snapshot and beta/preview versions. They were also the first to be disclosed by Mojang during their annual event.

The Creaking is a special hostile mob that appears in the new biome at night and hunts players when they are not looking toward it. This implies that the mob will begin to approach and assault a player as soon as it leaves their screen.

Another unique feature of the Creaking is that it cannot be harmed by any ranged or direct melee attacks. Instead, the creature's heart is present as a block in one of the pale oak trees. To eliminate the new mob, players must destroy this heart.

This brings us to the Pale Garden biome, which is an eerie Overworld biome that is filled with pale oak trees. As soon as players enter the new biome, all other ambient sounds go away, with occasional wood creaking noises being the only sounds.

Even the sky becomes desaturated when players enter the spooky biome. Though the biome does not pose any threat during the day, several hostile mobs, including the Creaking, spawn at night.

New building blocks

The Pale Garden biome also brings new building blocks with The Garden Awakens Drop. The biome generates new pale oak trees, giving players a brand new wood set that is white in color. Multiple wood blocks can be crafted with the pale oak, including log-like planks, doors, trapdoors, slabs, stairs, and so on.

The biome also brings a brand new material — resin. When players hit the Creaking mob, its heart block will secrete resin that will deposit on the surrounding pale oak logs. These resin droplets can then be mined and collected as resin clumps.

The resin clumps need to be smelted in a furnace to create resin bricks, which can then be crafted into various new resin building blocks. These blocks will be bright orange in color with a unique texture, giving players a unique building block to try.

New armor trim color

After resin clumps are melted into resin bricks, they can then be used to color armor trim designs. Players can apply a vivid orange hue with resin bricks to any armor trim.

Apart from these main features, Mojang is bringing other smaller changes to the game with Minecraft's The Garden Awakens Drop.

Mojang recently announced the official name of the upcoming drop along with its release date. The Garden Awakens Drop will be released on December 3, 2024. Furthermore, the developers also teased that they will announce more surprises when they release the drop on Tuesday.
