Here's everything you need to know about the Minecraft Winter Drop release.
When is the Minecraft Winter Drop releasing?
The Minecraft Winter Drop will be released on December 3, 2024. The much-awaited update will be available globally for download on all supported platforms and devices.
The Winter Drop will be available on Minecraft Bedrock and Java Edition for all supported devices. Players with an existing installation of the game can update to the latest version (automatically, in case you're using the official Minecraft launcher).

What can you expect from the Minecraft Winter Drop?
The highlight of the Winter Drop will be the introduction of the new Pale Garden biome. This eerie biome features denatured Pale Oak wood and unique flora such as eyeblossoms and resin. But the most interesting aspect of the biome is the new creaking mob.
The mysterious creaking mob has a strange and unique movement where it will not react when facing it but the moment you turn your back, it will sneak up on you and deal devastating damage — similar to the Weeping Angels from Doctor Who.
The wily mob is impervious to any kind of damage and can only be defeated by destroying its heart, making it a worthwhile challenge for players who enter the Pale Garden.
Additionally, resin is also another item being introduced with the biome. The block has a host of features and can be refined and crafted into walls, slabs, stairs, armor trim, and more.
As with any update, players can expect a host of technical changes and bug fixes that go towards improving the gameplay experience for players. Additional updates to attain parity between both editions of Minecraft can also be expected.
